A Song In The Wind

I shrugged, "What can we do but to live our lives now?"

"Is that it? Everything that has happened before just ends like that? Is that really the end of the story?" Eden asked.

"Was there something more that you wanted?"

"I don't…It just seems so sudden."

"What are you going to do now? Do you have a plan?"

Eden shook his head. "My whole life revolved around this story. I had a purpose in this fucking world. I am the main character. What else am I other than what I was born for?"

"We can figure that out. We have to, I suppose."

I held my hand out to Eden. He grimaced as he slowly took hold of my hand. It was a light hold, but I used him to pull myself up.

"Let's head out," I said as I took the path back to the Falling Sky Kingdom.

We walked in silence on the way back. We took a few breaks, but not for too long. About halfway there, the sun had long set.
