Mother

Ian was visibly bothered by their attires, mostly because of Iris's revealing dress, Iris could swear that smoke was was coming out of his ears as she was walking behind him.

"You don't like my dress?" Iris jabbed Ian, amusement laced her voice knowing full well what the issue was.

" It's not that!" he deadpanned sulking while walking ahead of Iris.

" What is then? Is it your attire?" she poked again bitting her lip to hold herself back from smiling at his reaction.

" It like your dress, you look like a goddess!" he praised her pouting while turning around to look at Iris, staring at her breasts.

Iris giggled seeing him stare at her breasts, pulling the cloak to cover them" Is this better?" she asked with genuine concern.

" Well, I feel a little better! I will ask Athan to find you a different dress with more fabric in it!" he mumbled under his breath with a glint of mischief in his eyes, thinking that she can wear what he was wearing that will work for him.

Iris rolled her eyes, sighing in annoyance at whole unnecessary drama and carried on walking leaving Ian in his spot staring into empty space.

Ian quickly followed Iris looking in a better mood than before, Iris stopped to check on the traps that she had layed, finding one rabbit in each trap, wrapping them in her cloak so they couldn't escape.

Upon reaching the first trap that they have layed, noticing it was undisturbed they moved onto the next one that Ian had layed, which seemed to be undisturbed also.

" Are you sure you've done it right?" Iris jabbed Ian again seeing that only the traps she had layed had rabbits in them.

Ian ran his fingers through his hair a little frustrated that the traps were empty" Uhm...I did!" he exclaimed while looking around " something must've scared them in this area!" he replied with a pensive look on his face, wondering what could that be.

Feeling something brushing against her leg, Iris jumped from her spot gripping on Ian's tunic with her eyes closed.

Ian looked at the ground to see what made Iris jump, he gasped when he noticed the wolf slumped on the ground barely breathing covered in blood.

Tapping Iris on the shoulder " Iris, it's just Bastos!" he said in calm voice a little amused how she jumped as she was standing on fire.

Iris opened one eye to peak at the wolf, realising that it was indeed Bastos, she handed Ian the cloak with the rabbits in it and quickly bent down to check on the wolf.

" I wonder what happened to him!" she mumured in a hushed voice while gently patting the wolf head.

" You take the rabbits, I'll carry the wolf!" Ian suggested while pushing the cloak in front of Iris.

Taking the cloak from him, she stood up taking a step back to allow Ian enough room to pick up Bastos, making their way back to the cave.

Upon reaching the cave, Athan was already waiting for them at the entrance with his eyebrows raised in suprise, seeing Ian carried a wolf in his arms, thinking that he might have hunted the wolf but upon having a closer look he quickly recognised the wolf.

" Bastos? Did you called on him? Why is he covered in blood?" Athan quickly shot the questions while moving out of the way.

" No she did not call Bastos, he just appeared in the forest while we were checking on the traps!" Ian deadpanned in annoyance while glaring at Athan.

Athan frowned a little taken aback at Ian's bitting attitude" Did something happened?" he queried while looking at the two, thinking that they must've argued causing Ian's mood to turn sour.

Ian pointed at Iris's dress " Find another one with more cover!" he demanded while glaring at Athan, his anger solely focused on him.

Athan sighed in relief " Uhmmm.....that is the only one with more cover, the other ones are even more revealing!" Athan informed him with a sheepish look on his face.

Ian scoffed " What about the attire that I'm wearing that will work, right?" he asked while looking at Iris with a hopeful look on his face.

Iris sighed " Ian, my love I told you that you have nothing to worry about, so please can we just move on!" she pleaded again while taking step closer to grab his arm.

" Fine!" he huffed while frowning, his lips set in a thin line.

" These are the only clothes that he can wear!" Iris addressed the matter while looking at Athan pointing at Ian's attire.

Athan let out a nervous chuckle, wringing his hands " Uhmm...we...you never had a husband Iris, you were never interested in taking one or been with a man for that matter, so that's why I gave him some of mine!" he explained shrugging while looking at Ian and Iris who looked confused again.

" I don't understand how this even happened!" he mumured while gesturing with his hands at them.

" So I'm the first man that ever touched you!" he affirmed proudly with his head held high grining from ear to ear.

" Yes, that right!" Athan confirmed a little annoyed that they were still discussing this topic.

Iris just kept quiet taking all the details in, not being bothered that much at how much she lacked in knowing her own history and somewhat relieved that Athan could fill in the blanks.

Putting Bastos down on the ground, he turned to Iris " I'll take the rabbits!" he offered while extending his hand to Iris taking the rabbits from her.

" I need a knife and make a fire!" he demanded while turning to Athan who nodded and made his way to the back of the cave to look for the knife.

Making his way back with the knife who looked more like a dagger handing it to Ian. Looking at the dagger who looked very old, turning it and studying it, he had seen something like this before in his mothers parchments, the jewells incrusted on the handle, the curved shape and the metal that was made of, it didn't seem like anything the humans could make.

" Who does this belong to?" he asked curiously while looking at the dagger.

" It belonged to one of our priestess!" Athan plainly answered with a frown not understanding why Ian wanted to know.

" Her name?" Ian asked in serious tone already having an ideea who the dagger belonged to.

" Sadhya!" Athan plainly answered while looking intently at Ian trying to read his expression.

Ian clicked his tongue " My mother, this dagger belonged to my mother!" he commented absent minded while still staring at the dagger in his hand.
