Day Five #1

Due to them gaining more than enough things from the battle and the amount of experience they gained was enough for each of them, Inis let everyone rest for the day while she started preparing new weapons, tools and various things to be used for traps.

Whenever she was no longer full and could eat some more, Inis was biting down on some of the meat that came from those she had killed and many of them had done the same.

Xeni was much slower in gaining a mastery over the energy circulation and refining method so she still needed time to fully grasp it enough to be able to use it right away while circulating her energy more than once successfully.

Inis had been quicker to grasp the method and completed many cycles which moved through her body at a much faster speed so her refining of her energy was much faster.

Although it was not a huge improvement that could help Xeni refine her energy much more quickly that she could tell the difference in how well she could absorb and refine it, it was still a good start considering she had just begun to learn it.

When Xeni was not attempting to circulate her energy, she was exercising according to the instructions given by Inis and the other Gremlins had joined in during the exercising and sparring.

An area of the cave was slowly being converted into a training area with some targets being set up for spear throwing and archery which had been put to use by Xeni and the other Gremlins.

The Gremlins made sure to make use of their ability to birth another Gremlin as they had done the days before and Inis had done the same.

More newly born Gremlins had been born during the day and night from her own group or the others to replace those numbers lost in battle.

The Gremlins outside of her group had suffered many deaths and injuries due to the attack of the hyenas so there was even more of a need for them to replenish their numbers.

If it had not been for the intervention of Inis then they may have been left with very few among them that were alive and there was a possibility that none may have survived the battle.

Even the growing new borns that had not yet hatched would be ruthlessly killed and devoured by the hyenas then their land would probably be taken over by the hyenas and the Gnolls that controlled them.

As Inis completed many more circulations of her energy throughout her whole body, she could feel her body adapting better to it as it was growing stronger and the overall quantity of her energy was increasing.

In order to better understand the area and the potential dangers that were around her, Inis had spent some time questioning Xeni about what she knew about the kinds of creatures that belonged to the forest they were a part of and what were the biggest threats among them.

Slowly her own plans were being drawn up so that the next day would be just as beneficial for the growth of herself and the others that were surviving alongside her.

Once the others had tired out and fell asleep, their bodies began to slowly adapt to the energy that was stored within them.

The rate of growth for the Gremlins was much slower than Inis and Xeni but their recent gained would help with their faster growth in power compared to what the other Gremlins outside the group had experienced.

Inis continued to absorb more energy and was gradually increasing her own power through most of the day and night until the morning of the next day had come.

Inis was seated cross legged and breathed out them stood up after finishing adjusting the energy within herself then stretched her body a little. 'Hm.. this should be what it feels like to be at around the middle stage of this realm. I definitely feel stronger but the increase is not that large. This is still a great improvement to my power and my growth has been very quick. How many days have passed now? Is this my fifth day already?'

Inis was very pleased with her rate of growth over such a short amount of time but she was aware that there would be better resources in the world that were more suited to her and would be a lot purer to better be used to refine her energy.

While she had gained some growth by eating the meat of many different creatures, there were far better ways to achieve a more efficient growth in aether energy.

It was the same for Xeni who would gain much better benefits from resources that were better suited to her body or her natural affinities.

All she had to do was find it so she looked over towards the sleeping Satyr and called her over. "Wake up.. we need you… to join today."

Xeni got up from her deep slumber and rubbed her eyes. "Yawn.. what do you want me to do?"

Once Xeni had asked Inis that, Inis showed a sly grin and left the cave while being followed by the group of Gremlins. "You will know.. soon enough.."

Inis had stepped outside and saw the sight of the fallen hyenas and Gremlins that had been laying around the day before which had mostly been moved or had been eaten by the surviving Gremlins. 'So they ate their own kind.. why am I not surprised.'

There were some places where it had been more obvious that the Gremlins had not only ate the hyenas but they had also chosen to eat their own kind.

It showed that they did not really have a great amount of respect for the allies they fought with and had just seen them as food to help them fill up their stomaches and to help increase their own power.

Their need for power was even higher once they had suffered such losses and even the most lazy among them that never journeyed outside had resorted to devouring the flesh of anything that had died and was laying around.
