Day Six #1

The scent of the ripening fruit was picked up by the surrounding creatures that were in the area.

The smell was very attractive to each of them and they were attracted towards the tree where they met up with others.

Not everyone was so patient to wait for them to fully ripen and started to fight among themselves or took their chance to run closer to the tree.

There were numerous animal and monster calls happening all around the area while there were some cries which came from those that were wounded.

Those weaker were quickly put in their place, made to flee or died while some had chosen to avoid others and take a less straightforward approach.

"Ooh!"

"Ooh!"

"Aha!"

The moment that a wolf was creeping closer to the tree, some stones were flung down towards them along with some wooden spears.

It seemed like the monkeys were prepared for attacks and had learned a little from watching humans and others in battle.

It did not cause a large amount of harm to the wolf but it did cause it some discomfort while it did have its body pierced a little by the wooden spear.

"Awoo!"

"Grr!"

"Ooh!"

The wolf let out howls and growls towards the top of the trees while the monkeys let out war cries of their own.

More wooden spears and stones were thrown down onto the wolf which caused it to suffer more damage before it could attempt to climb up the tree.

Its eyes were filled with hate as it retreated in a wounded state after it fell down from the tree then others followed up in their attempts to reach the fruits.

The monkeys were safe up in the trees and had tools to use so that they could keep others away but they were running out with each passing moment.

They had to conserve the rest so they stopped throwing them and chose to swing from the branches and personally attacked the climbing creatures with the tools or weapons they had in hand.

The scent started to grow stronger and more attractive until it was soon ready to ripen and reach its best state to be eaten so the creatures in the area became more reckless.

It made them more competitive against others to snatch one of the fruits but they did not fight among themselves as much.

It was more like a beast wave attacking the tree and each of them were pushing their way up the tree.

The monkeys started to become overwhelmed but they still had a greater amount of strength and numbers on their side to make use of their advantage of having the high ground.

The monkeys were swinging through the branches and kicked an animal down but not everyone of them were so lucky to perfectly execute a successful attack.

Some were countered by the desperate creatures that were climbing or the monkeys had made contact with them during the attack which resulted in both sides falling down.

The monkeys that fell down were forced to confront those at the bottom of the tree without support from the others so they were outnumbered.

A monkey had just hit something that was climbing up with a thick wooden club. "Ooh! Aha!"

It beat its chest proudly with one of its fists but it suddenly felt a large amount of pain pierce through its chest.

It looked down and an arrow had pierced into its heart which caused it to fall back from the force of the arrow and the weakening of its life force.

It fell down from the tree and more arrows started to fly towards unsuspecting monkeys or other creatures that got anywhere close to the fruits.

Each of them was expertly targeted towards the throat, eyes or the heart for a quick and effective kill.

Just after that, there was more arrows that flew from another direction as they targeted similar targets.

From another tree further away was Inis who had a large quiver on her back that was full of bone arrows.

She raised her bow and placed a new one there before pulling on the bow string that was made from the tendons of creatures that had already evolved.

The arrow heads were made from the bones of similar creatures so their toughness could allow them to endure the strong impact and pierce through the flesh of other evolved creatures within a similar power range.

The bow string that had been made allowed for a more powerful and stable pull and release due to its elasticity and toughness compared to an ordinary one made from other materials.

It was more difficult to pull them back and to concentrate while aiming but Inis was more experienced than others and could still expertly use it in her current body.

In another tree up high was another which was Xeni who had a natural affinity with archery so she had been able to adjust to the bow that was prepared by Inis to suit her strength.

Some tougher creatures had the arrow heads pierce through their skin and deep enough to inflict a fatal wound but there were some more powerful shots that had resulted in the arrows flying through the intended target or got stuck on the way out.

Once the threat of the monkeys had become much less and the area had no unexpected visitors that were waiting for an opportunity, Inis showed a smirk as she took out an arrow with a coloured mark on the wooden part then changed her target.

The arrow flew off into the distance where she fired and she continued to work with Xeni to reduce the remaining numbers of the monkeys up in the tree.

"Gehee!"

"Gahaha!"

"Rahaha!"

Several small Gremlins that were the size of a small child had came running excitedly and were armed with all kinds of weapons.

The frenzied creatures at the bottom of the tree were attacked from behind all of a sudden and let out shrieks while the monkeys continued to fall from the trees at a more rapid rate.

Once everything had become silent, Inis looked over her surroundings and then finally climbed down once there was no others around.

There were daggers that pierced into the trees and she pulled herself up the tree after delivering some quick finishing blows to the creatures at the bottom of the tree.

Once she had climbed closer to the top, the strong scent had let her know that each of the fruits were almost done.
