Inis and Xeni quickly came to an understanding with each other and were made aware of each others intentions.
They were both wounded souls who experienced despair and suffering at one point in their lives so they had a little in common with each other.
Xeni had to endure the hopeless situation of being made to give birth to goblins within the cave while Inis had experienced the betrayal of her lover and comrades.
Those bad situations had been not too long ago or they had felt that way so the wounds were still very fresh for both of them.
It really was until recently that Xeni had been enduring the harsh conditions and treatment while it had been a very long time ago for Inis but it still seemed like it was not that long ago to her.
Her time spent dead before her reincarnation had been a blank slate so the last memories that she possessed were still the last ones she had before waking up in the body of a monster.
It may have been hundreds of years ago but to her, it was just like she had experienced it all several days ago so the wound in her heart was still fresh.
Inis carried that hatred and despair along with her as she moved forward while Xeni had tried to do the same.
Their wounded hearts could not be mended so easily after what they had experienced but it did create a slight affinity between the two of them.
They both experienced despair and had nobody else in the world to rely on so they gradually found themselves relying on each other even if it was unintentional.
Xeni had not had anyone to talk to for a long time besides other captives and even those women had not wished to converse with her who was a humanoid type monster.
They already had enough hatred for monsters with what was happening to them so they did not share the same kind of bond with each other since they had already separated her into being just ad bad as the goblins.
That was the case for those that had been able to keep themselves active during their struggles and used hatred to let them carry on so it was directed towards the goblins or others that had the appearance of a monster.
Most others had given in to despair and no longer functioned properly so they did not make it that long before they died due to them not taking care of themselves and being broken mentally.
It created a lonely environment where Xeni was surrounded by others like her but it was still very lonely.
Inis was in a similar situation due to her being reborn as a Gremlin and being different from the others.
Being the only smart one capable of thinking for herself and being surrounded by the many Gremlins made it difficult to find someone to talk to properly or to form some kind of bond.
The Gremlins did not make good company for her so once she had gained a companion that she could talk to, that lonely feeling within her had slowly been reduced.
They both needed someone or something in order to help them move forward and to overcome the pain and loneliness they felt.
They had been brought together by chance but how they proceeded forward was entirely up to them.
The Gremlins being born from her and the others were gradually increasing in numbers which had created two batches within them.
The previous Gremlins that joined her from the cave had been the first ones to start reproducing the Gremlins that were ordinary and were rebuilding what had been lost.
The purple Gremlins born from Inis had gone on to make some of their own which had been added to the batch and more had been added each day once Inis had made some time to do so.
The battles were still ongoing within the forest and Inis had spent her time fixing up her new home, training and building up her own force of Gremlins.
The various Gremlins under her command were put through sparring and training regularly while some weapons or other useful things were given to them in order to let them practice how to use them.
Her days as a Dungeon Hunter were still fresh in her mind and there always needed to be some kind of balance between a team.
Many of the Gremlins were quite reckless and lacked a lot of combat ability unless they received strict guidance and orders so it would be difficult to fully teach them combat formations and strategies.
Letting them run wild was one option to add some chaos to battles but there was a need for certain important roles to be filled if the casualties would be reduced significantly.
Inis sat with her head resting on her hand as she used a pen to write inside of a note book. 'They can fill some roles well but many of them are just too difficult to manage especially when there are so many of them.
I could just build a vast Gremlin army but even I would struggle to keep all of them in check. The addition of Xeni would be helpful towards filling another permanent position but so many more are missing.'
Each person in the dungeon had their own roles even if it was for smaller tasks like carrying supplies, scouting, disabling traps and so on.
The more durable people who could take a hit and hold their ground were classified as tanks and they usually possessed some skills that let them reduce their damage taken or helped to grab the attention of the monsters.
Those with greater strength and speed made excellent assassins or combatants while others that possessed greater affinity towards spells had acted as healers or spell casters.
Inis did not know how the future would be but it was best to be prepared for whatever was to come.
The main issue was that without the system to provide such conditions for growth and skills, many would have to learn things from scratch and would have a much slower time growing more powerful.
Boosting others through dungeons to gain experience was no longer an option and so was giving them the loot from bosses that provided skill scrolls or special artefacts.
It was a bigger issue that there were no humans that Inis knew which could be of such use to her and everything was pointing Inis towards a certain path where humans would be at the bottom of those she would consider taking in.
Inis looked at the lists and drawings she was compiling inside the notebook once more then closed it. "I still do not even know what I should be doing right now… well, whatever. Time to clean up the surroundings."
She reached out towards an energy based rifle that had been taken apart and reconstructed many times by her then carried it towards the part of the tree where the tree branches thinned out.
She looked below and saw several monsters that had still not moved on to another location.
The gun was pointed down towards one and the trigger was pulled which followed with a hot beam of light that pierced through the body of the monster. "Gwaaak!"
