Day Thirteen #12

Once she felt that she was clean enough and that it was about time she left the water, she pulled herself out.

The piece of flesh that she dropped before jumping in was picked up again allowing her to chomp down onto the remains as she was leaving.

It took some time to eat it all and swallow all of the fluids inside but eventually it all was eaten up by Inis.

A strong heat spread through her body that came from what she had eaten which caused even her Gremlin physique to be slightly affected.

It was possible to eat all kinds of things with few side effects but it was not an absolute ability.

Whatever she ate had to be within a certain limit to what her body could handle.

Some things she ate would have to be eaten in much smaller doses while others had to be within a certain realm limit depending on its potency or how dangerous it was ranked.

Her body was burning up but Inis was very thankful that she was able to finish the whole thing.

If she had left a part of it only eating a smaller amount then the effects would have lessened a lot for what she was aiming for while the side effects could be much worse.

inis had to push through to eat it all in order to bring out the full effects and get through the worst part of it.

Other situations depended on what she chose to eat since there were various things that were needed to counteract the side effects or amplify the positive effects.

Since she did not have a wide variety of tools and herbs, she had to eat many things raw without adding what would be most beneficial.

The ball of flesh that she ate whole was the serpent's venom sac.

It was better to process it properly in order to use for poisons or to help build up the bodies resistances to poison.

If poisoned by a certain type of creature, there were some ways to cure it to prevent death but it varied from creature to creature.

Many types of snakes had such a weakness so if their victims were able to kill them before their venom did what it was supposed to, the victim would be able to dig out and swallow the venom sac which would provide a way to survive.

If a hunter did not have a cure available or did not have the means to process on the spot it in a safer way, the only way to build up a wide variety of resistances against different venoms was to eat the whole venom sac without leaving a single part of it.

If a small amount was not eaten and left aside or if it was not eaten fast enough then it was very likely that the key parts of it that were needed could be left over not allowing for the body to not gain enough of a resistance to the venom inside the body or what was contained in the sac.

It was very likely that many died consuming venom sacs after hearing about the tip to help build up the bodies tolerance to many kinds of venoms due to them eating them too slow or not finishing it all.

As her body was digesting what had been eaten, the heat spread through her body which meant that the effects of the venom were still very potent and still harmed her a little but it was not to the point where she was physically struggling to continue what she was doing.

As time passed, the effects started to lessen which showed that it was succeeding and allowing her body to adapt a little at a time until the side effects disappeared.

Inis continued running through the area until she arrived back near the location she had wanted to return to.

Her magenta eyes looked towards the walls from the position she was hiding and keeping her body low.

Since she had filled her stomach, had a battle to refresh herself and gained a small bonus for herself, Inis was able to focus her full attention on the walls of the human settlement in front of her.

More time passed and there was no movement until the gates started to open once more.

Carriages pulled by horses were coming out and other horses were pulling large cages on wheels filled with people.

Each person inside was dressed in simple rags which signified their new role as slaves.

Not a single valuable was on their body and they seemed to have nothing else that they could hold onto which they could consider important to them.

Not too long had passed since they entered but the spirits of those in the cages had dropped an awful lot during the time they spent behind those walls.

The kinds of suffering and humiliation they faced behind those walls was something Inis could not know about but seeing their appearances, she could make some guesses.

What she was more intrigued about was another thing and that was where they were heading to.
