Inis was torn between staying put to investigate inside the walls of the human settlement or to follow the carriages.
There was a benefit in remaining where she was since there would be many things to investigate inside and if she had enough time and willingness to do so then she could gain many useful supplies from within.
Just like her time in the other human settlement, she had no good feelings towards those she had seen so far so she would not feel much guilt for taking what she needed from them.
Inis looked back and forth before thinking to herself. 'Hmm.. I already know how to get here and the way to return back to where I came from so it does not have to be today.
What interests me the most right now is where those carriages are going and what those humans are going to be used for.'
The carriages were moving at a steady pace and had only made their way out into the open road ready to travel to their destination so she had time to come to a decision.
She was much too interested in where the human slaves would be transported to.
It was likely that they were going to be taken to someone who could handle them or to another settlement but there could also be some other purpose involved.
Inis wanted to find out what they were up to and she was very curious about the location they were being sent.
It was a heaven sent opportunity to find another settlement or site that had other living beings so she could not let go of such a chance that had been presented to her.
Since she had already figured out where two settlements were, it was time to explore further to discover what else was within her surroundings.
Her purpose was to discover what threats were around and what other places existed.
She did not want to believe that all humans were the same and were complete scum from what she had experienced so far after her rebirth.
Inis still held onto a little hope that there would be a place that could tolerate her existence and that there could be some form of cooperation to be had.
Even if she was a monster, Inis possessed intelligence that those of her own kind lacked.
It made her able to better prove that she could be reasoned with allowing for there to be some form of cooperation between the different races and species.
Just like how she was in need of something, there must be things that the humans needed too.
If an understanding could be reached then it would make her life a whole lot easier and she would have a smoother time integrating into the world that had changed so much after her death that happened so long ago.
There was more movement along the road as they made their way towards their destination while a small figure stalked them from within the cover of the forest.
There were some times when she was unable to keep up and considered turning back but she soon caught up again once the carriages needed to stop for a break or to navigate through a slightly difficult terrain.
Eventually it disappeared from her sight so Inis was left to rely on her past skills that she had honed.
The remains of the tracks left on the road were looked over at each turn so after she had confirmed the tracks matched the previous tracks she followed, Inis was able to determine which path to take leading her the correct way.
The tracks left behind were more than enough for her to navigate the rest of the way without losing her way.
She made sure to survey her surroundings before stepping out to check the tracks and made sure to make a mental note of everything in order to remember which directions she she travelling in and what each location looked like.
As she was about to step out, Inis saw that the carriages were returning her way so she hid herself and watched as they passed by.
Each of them were completely empty as if all of the slaves were dropped off somewhere.
Inis waited for them to pass and disappear from her view before continuing to follow the tracks.
She eventually found herself in front of another fortress that was far smaller but the walls surrounding it was just as large and thick.
Since she had come so far to identify the place without getting to see any of the insides of either of those she had found, she was stuck with the decision to leave with the new information she had gathered or to investigate further.
Her magenta eyes continued to stay on the gates that were closed and blocked her entry.
The more she stared at them, the more Inis felt the urge to see beyond it to figure out what secrets were held behind. 'Ah… Damn it! Alright… I will wait for night to come.'
She went to gather some things and cleaned herself up a little after finding a place to wash up.
It did not take too much time to pass before she felt hungry once more and she went on the hunt again.
Inis caught a small rabbit which became what would satisfy her for the time being and then she went back to looking around the walls and gate without stepping into the open.
Night began to come and Inis started to feel like her time had finally come to make a move.
She kept her magenta eyes locked onto the top of the walls searching for the patterns in the movements of the humans that were on duty there before stepping out when she had figured out the best timing to strike.
Inis was able to reach the walls and leaned close enough that it was very difficult to see her unless they leaned over the walls to look all the way down which could cause them to lose balance and fall if they were not careful.
She began her climb up the side of the wall grabbing onto anything that stuck out and if there was nothing, she made one quietly using her weapons allowing her to make it near the top where she could have more to hold onto.
Her small body was hung on the side of the wall as she was silently listening to the movements of those moving around nearby.
Once she adjusted to the patterns of their movements, she started to hear the footsteps getting quieter and further away once again signalling for her to act.
Inis pulled herself up and quickly moved as she searched for an easy way to make her way down.
