I felt like I was spinning, I wanted to throw up. I knew I was still, but I felt like I was in a dark tunnel and everything was swirling in a nauseating tornado. I groaned uncomfortably and felt everything in my body ache. My head throbbed like I had recently had a jackhammer pounding on it.

"Sara?" Jaxon called out before I opened my eyes.

I smiled, happy he was alive and here.

"Are you awake?"

I forced my eyes open and took a second to get a clear vision of the room. I wasn’t in the car anymore. I was in a hospital room, lying in a bed, and I noticed I was now wearing nothing but a hospital gown. I turned to my left to see Jaxon sitting there. He had a wrap around his shoulder, some bruises and cuts, but otherwise he looked fine.

"You’re alive," I mumbled, relieved.

He chuckled at me.

"Was that in question? You’re the one passed out in a hospital bed," he reminded me.
