Sara
I felt much less afraid now that I had Jaxon on the phone. He just had the power to make me feel like everything would be okay; he made me feel safer than anybody ever had.
I wanted to tell him that when I noticed a figure moving in the dark.
I squinted and leaned forward slightly as I tried to make out the shadow I'd seen. I jolted up and screamed, dropping the phone as the shadow moved again, and I could make out a man moving toward me.
Cameron screamed as I woke him up with my scream, waking Camilla up too.
"Mommy?" Camilla asked in a groggy voice as she opened her eyes.
"Shh, shh..." I muttered as quietly as I could, trying to stop the crying. "It's okay. Mommy just got startled."
I immediately hit the button to lock the doors before climbing into the back seat. I unbuckled Camilla and pulled her close as I fumbled with Cameron's car seat, trying to get him out as quickly as I could. I didn't know what I was going to do if that man was actually coming for us.
