“Thank you Levi for presenting those figures on the Wakefield Restoration project,” Lenora tells the group, “We all greatly appreciate your help pitching in. It’s been a difficult time for us, and it’s wonderful to have you here!.” 


Levi has been working constantly to help the Elders take care of council business. Other than Lenora, the members seem strange to me.  They almost never speak, at least not to me, and they appear to be very secretive.Levi keeps telling me not to take it personally, that it’s just the way they operate, but they make me uneasy, nonetheless. 


“It’s been my pleasure,” my mate tells her, “I’m honored to be a part of the process.” 


As he walks toward me I suddenly, fervently wish that we had more time alone on this trip. 


“Hello my love,” he says, taking two champagne flutes from a passing waiter and handing one to me, “I’m sorry you had to sit through that meeting. It had to be deadly boring.”
