“That was incredible,” I tell Hope and Colin after our first magical defense session, “I really feel like I’m starting to get a handle on this!” 


After Hope taught me the basics of defensive and offensive spells, Colin gave me pointers on how to know which spell to use in any given situation. He also taught me how to improve my overall approach to spell casting, and we practiced magic fighting on the mats. I’m very glad that we chose this practice area, as falling frequently is definitely part of the training. I’m sore, but not injured. And what I have gained in knowledge is more than worth a few aches and pains. 


“You have a real aptitude for this,” Colin says with enthusiasm, “I think you’re ready to move onto some more advanced casting next time. Maybe we could start delving into potion making as well!”
