Chapter-7

Charlie and Olivia entered the house. The decorations done in the living room was on point. "It looks beautiful" said Charlie impressively. But unfortunately Olivia wasn't happy as we thought she would be. She went to her bedroom upstairs and banged the door hard.

"I knew this would happen. But you girls don't worry. I'll get her." said Mrs Thomas as she went upstairs. Mrs Thomas tried to open the door but Olivia had locked herself. "Sweety, please open the door. It's me. Grandma." said Mrs Thomas while trying to unlock the door. "I had made it very clear long back that I won't celebrate my birthday ever again. And still you guys won't understand." said Olivia angrily. "Yeah, do you want to be like this forever? Don't you think you have the right to be happy?" Mrs Thomas snapped back. There was no reply. "Don't you think your mom and dad will be sad to look at you like this? asked Mrs Thomas. "I'm fine, ok? Perfectly fine." said Olivia angrily. "I just asked one thing. To leave me alone" said Olivia.

"You know what your problem is? You think you don't need anyone. Your friends and I don't matter to you." said Mrs Thomas angrily. "Why don't you understand that this is not you. This is not how you used to be. We all just want that person who loved art and music. Who used to be happy and had fun. You used to share everything with us. Nowadays you don't even talk to us. Just school and home and then you go to sleep." said Mrs Thomas.

"I really hope she comes down." whispered Charlie. "She will. I know she will." I said. "Mrs Thomas is right though. She doesn't even smile much. She doesn't even try to be happy." said Mathilde sadly. "Everything happened all of a sudden. It's not her fault." said Cami. "Today is the day you take the first step. You have the whole right to live your life to the fullest. This is what your parents always wanted you to be." said Mrs Thomas. While Mrs Thomas and Olivia were upstairs we were getting really worried. After few minutes Mrs Thomas finally managed to get Olivia down. Olivia's eyes were filled with tears while she was coming down. "I.. I'm sorry" said Olivia. "I was being a baby. I'm really sorry. You all gave so much efforts, yet I didn't care." she said. "I'm glad you came down." I said and we all smiled happily.

"Umm.. well, here's my present for you." said Mrs Thomas. Olivia took it with a smile. "Open it." she said. Olivia opened the present. It was a pendant. "It's mum's" said Olivia. Mrs Thomas had carved Olivia's childhood picture with her mum and dad in it. Olivia hugged her grandmother. "Happy birthday Olivia." said Mrs Thomas happily. Olivia hugged her tight. "Well, we have got something for you too." I said. We gave her the present. She opened it. It was a guitar with her name engraved in it. "Oh my God!" said Olivia surprisingly. (Olivia had broken her guitar angrily when she found out that her parents are no more. It was the same model and colour. Olivia is a very good singer but had stopped singing long back.) "Thank you so much!" Olivia and I hugged. "And here's the third present of the day." said Cami, Mathilde handed it over to Olivia.

It was a photo album covered with her favourite colour yellow and her name written on it. It had all our photos. Our group photos, Her photos with her parents and her grandmother and lot more. "Thank you so much" she said and we had a group hug. "I'm so lucky to have you all in my life." she said happily. "Present time over now can we cut the cake. I'm starving." said Charlie. We all laughed. "Yeah sure." said Olivia. Olivia had cut the cake and we sang the birthday song. "Oh, by the way who won the match?" asked Mrs Thomas. "Of course we did." Charlie showed us the group pictures with her team and their trophy. "Congratulations!" said Mrs Thomas.

We all were very happy as the day went really well. "We haven't heard a song from you for a long time now." I said while handing over the guitar to Olivia. She sang her favourite song by Ariana Grande "Love me harder". Later, after dinner Cami had put on the rock music in the speaker. "Let's dance." she said. While dancing Mrs Thomas came to me. "Thank you so much for bringing smile on my child's face." she said. "It's my pleasure." I said and we hugged. We danced all night.
