69: His choice (2)

Adnan exited the library.

"It can also aid to remind Soren of what you mean to him," The queen mother's words echoed in Adnan's head.

He lingered on the king when there was no hope. Soren and the king were inseparable and it was wishful thinking to try to come between them.

He was a lowly servant contending for a heart with an immortal. Soren seemed inhuman, his heart, his eyes, his ability to transform into anyone and come back to life. All of which paled in comparison to Adnan who was just Adnan.

A sad but true fact.

The King was way out of his league. There was no chance in the heavens or hell that their worlds would meet. They can gaze at each other from a distance but never be anything more.

It was a sad destiny, to love someone he was allowed to touch. His heart beating and yearning for a person who was spoken for.
