Betrayal

Whitney waited the whole night but did not get a call from Felix. She also had no idea what to do. So she had to call her friend Natalie to inform her of the situation.

"Are you sure Gracey did not leave on her own?" Natalie asked.

"No, my sister would never leave my brother behind. Moreover, she is so addicted to her phone. Gracey is short of money. She would not dare lose it," Whitney replied. She knew her sister best, if she had plans to run away, she would not have brought their brother along.

"Let's wait. Maybe your father's friend would have news," Natalie could only try her best to comfort her. She wished she could do something to help, but she had no means

"I know, but since you are still around, can you help me put your ears to the ground and inform me if you hear anything, no matter how insignificant," Whitney asked.

"Of course," Natalie replied. They chatted for a while before ending the call. That night Whitney was lost in her thoughts. When she fell asleep for an hour, she had a nightmare. In the Dream, Gracey had turned into a monster to seek revenge.

"Sis, you promised to take care of me but now I am dead," Gracey said as she attacked her with a stick. Whitney tried to escape and explained. She was also feeling guilty. "Sis, sis," Whitney felt something shaking her, so she woke up from her dream.

"Kelly," Whitey was surprised to see him. The dream had felt so real.

"Is Sis Gracey back now?" Kelly asked. His sister had fallen asleep in the sitting room. He had already checked the room the sisters shared, and no one was there. He was just unwilling to believe his eye.

When Whitney heard the question, she suddenly thought of Gracey in her dream. " it's still so early. Why don't you go and brush your teeth first," Whitney replied. She sounded as though she was sure that Gracey would be back later.

After Kelly left, Whitney looked at her phone. "No missed call," She said in disappointment. She hoped that even if Felix could not help her, he would call to let her know.

Since no one noticed Gracey getting kidnapped, they could only declare her missing if she did not return after twenty four hours.

There was no one she could turn to for information. Just as she got up, her phone rang. "Uncle Felix," Whitney was happy to get his call. She believes that there might be some good news since he called.

"Your sister would return home before afternoon. It is best not to make so much noise about the situation. This is the best for her and your family for the time being," Fexil said. He knew that she would have been worried sick. He had made a lot of calls before he got this hint.

"Okay," Whitney agreed. Since the incident did not happen in her neighbourhood, Whitney planned to keep it as low profile as possible.

"Uncle Felix, do you know who did it?" Whitney asked. Given that the man was confident that Gracey would return. She was sure he knew something.

"It's just a small group. I can't do anything to them," Felix said. He knew that no one would make a move, given the rumours going around. So it was clear that it was related to Kevin.

When Whitney heard his words, she already had a guess in her heart. "But the devil already wants to throw us into his ring to get his money. Would anyone dare overlook his power?" Whitney asked.

"This is not about the money. He is out for revenge," Felix said. He felt that his friend was unlucky. He had borrowed money from Kevin but dared to betray him. If he did not borrow any money and he died, even after crossing their boss, his daughter would not have been pushed to such an end.

Kevin had the rule of not punishing the family for the sin of the father. He knew that the organisation was now broken into two fractions. Someone wanted his sit. If this were the situation, Kevin would have only made it difficult for them to get jobs, but since Mr Warner owes him money, he could take advantage of this and throw the girls into the ring.

There are many ways to kill a rat without shading blood. The three warmer Children were unfortunate. Not only were their lives going to be difficult, death was the only future waiting for them. Felix was amazed thinking of his friend's boldness to betray the Devil.

"What do you mean?" Whitney felt that Felix was hitting something.

"Your father betrayed the company. This is why your situation is like this," Felix said. Many people did not know this, but he found out because he was close to Mr Warner. After his betrayal was discovered, all those who were close to him were investigated.

This was why he could not attend the funeral. After all, he was taken and questioned with the truth whip. Fortunately, he knew nothing.

"What did you say?" Whitney was surprised. She did not believe that her father would be such a man. How bold was he to dare betray the devil?

"I am telling you this. I work in the company, so I can easily guess this. Even I almost got implicated. Your father was able to get that large amount of money for your sister's treatment because of the company's policy. It had nothing to do with position. Even a cleaner would get the same help if a close family member were sick. This was to ensure that employees were loyal, but your father was a little too greedy. If he had not betrayed the devil, your life would not have become so complicated.

Even if the company wants its money, you can enter the company and pay up. It is just that your position would depend on how much you earn. So which would determine how long it would take you to pay. Otherwise, why would he want to throw you two into the ring and sell your brother, " Felix replied. He felt the need to explain the situation to Whitney.

He also wanted her to know the reason he would not dare to help their family. Since Mr Warmer was his good friend, many people would expect him to help.

This was also his revenge on Mr Warmer for dragging him down. He wanted his daughters to hate him. He wanted Tham to feel unlucky for having such a father.

" Would Gracey be fine? " Whitney could not digest the whole thing, so she decided to change the topic.

"I don't know, but she would be alive. Take care," After saying this, Felix hung up. Whitney sat on the chair, dazed. She had always wondered why the devil would get involved with something so small, but after hearing Felix's explanation, she understood everything.

She also understood why the man let her go, he wanted to watch her struggle. It did not matter if their family of three committed suicide. It also made sense why their debt was exposed. The man had no plans of letting them go.

"How bold is father to touch the lion's tail?" Whitney questioned. She could not understand why he had so much courage.

*knock knock

Whitney suddenly returned to her senses when she heard the sudden knock.
