Chapter 55: Failing The Test (2)

Perseus POV

Ok, this is ridiculous, why have none of them failed me? I've been purposely making fun of them and their tests, why haven't I been banned or kicked out by now?

"Alright, last test." a supervisor said "When accompanying a hero, meeting enemies is unavoidable, it this scenario, you are to get information our of our actor, and until the right answer is out, unless you give up, you can interrogate anyway you want."

"Even torture?"

"Of course, this person tied to a chair is a cold hearted criminal on death row, the longer he stays on that chair, the more years we'll take away since upon taking this assignment, we've removed him from death row, good luck."

So basically the supervisors told the criminal a phrase and there are no rules against him lying or the way I torture, but even if I kill the person, this person was on death row anyway.

"Ruka, gun." She then handed me the revolver where I then point it at his head.

"Look, I'll be forward, tell me the phrase."

"Heh, if you think a pathetic treasure is going to scare me, you're fucking wrong." the criminal laughed "And here I came prepared to be tortured, the phrase is go suck some balls."

*Click*

"Shit, what is it with you and not loading these? I'm trying to kill somebody over here."

"Sorry, here's 2, should be more than enough." Ruka gave me the bullet to load up the round "It's all you need to kill him."

"Yo, what the fuck?! Do you not know what interrogation is?!" the criminal shouted

"It means questioning someone in an aggressive manner."

"Yeah, you fucking shot me, you're lucky your lady friend didn't load the shit up, i would've have fucking died."

"I didn't shoot you, the gun shot you."

"Huh? The fuck?!" he exclaimed and his hands is now trying to escape his cuffs "You pulled the trigger!"

"That's a bad accusation, the bullet came off the gun, so the gun shot you."

"Whose hands is the gun in?" he asked

"Uh, duh, me, do you not have eyes?" I replied sarcastically

"Who loaded the bullet?"

"Me."

"Whose finger was on the trigger?"

"Also me"

"And who the fuck pulled it?!" he shouted

"Uh, me?"

"Yeah, so YOU shot me!"

"Look, who's the interrogator here? I don't want your hypothesis on who the shooter is, you should have used your reasonable deductive skills for good things instead of ending up at where you are."

With a quick peek, I can see that even the supervisors had join in with the criminal and have these faces of disbelief, it's kinda funny to be honest.

"Ohhh..I see what you're doing." the criminal spoke up after a moment of silence "You're trying to use reverse psychology on me by pretending you were going to shoot me and send me a mes-"

*bang*

"Ahh, my hand* he screamed "What the fuck man?!"

*bang* This shot went to his legs.

"Alright, it's 'It's in the basement of the boar king'"

"You almost killed him!" my grandpa accused as he rushed to me "You would have shot him in the head if milady didn't load the gun!"

Quicker than I expected.

It means that the test ended as a healer came to treat the injured and the supervisors came and handed my grandfather a letter.

"Well he didn't die, did he? Anyway, we'll be leaving now as I do not need to wait for the results, Leilah, Ruka, let's go."

Rowan isn't nearby, and I don't really plan on making a visit to him, so we just leave the academy and head back to the tree knowing that I easily have failed the test and humiliated my own grandfather in front of his bosses.

*****

*3 days later*

"What the fuck do you mean that I've passed?"

Grand Laker came to visit our home, his first time at our new house, and handed me the same letter I saw that was handed to him a while back, i read the whole thing, and it said that I passed?

I just made a mockery of them to their face.

He then told them what I did during the test so now both my moms are really angry at me for betraying their expectations of not even trying, but I passed?

This isn't right!

"Oh, we wanted you from the beginning." Grandpa Laker replied "That test was supposed to shut the skeptics, and since you were acting the total opposite during the whole thing, it was clear to the others that you knew the answers from the very beginning, so it was almost unanimous."

"What the hell is wrong with you?! I've been rude, I swore to your face, humiliated you and everything, what the hell man?!"

"It'll be idiotic of the blue rose to choose an unworthy guardian, so your characteristics were not held in contempt."

"I tricked her into letting me, gods forbid this phrasing, I tricked her into letting me pluck her flower."

"You should have replaced flower with rose." my grandfather corrected "That would have sounded better."

We then heard a knock on the door, Ruka went up to it and opened to reveal grandpa Wager and grandma Lynda making a surprise visit. Yes, they'll be on y side, and I heard that both my grandads don't get along with each other that much, I'll be free from responsibilities.

*****

"Of course you don't want the boy to hold a prestigious position." Grandpa Laker grumbled

"Why are you forcing upon such a burden on our sweet boy, he can be whatever he wants." Grandpa Wager replied

I can feel a spark in the air. Apparently, they both were students in the same class back in their younger days, but their rivalry developed when they joined the watchers in their younger days, they were competing for higher positions, but long story short, after retirement, one became a teacher working in Zoris while the other worked as a therapist.

And that's how my moms met, their parents were really against the 2 being friends, and when they started dating, Grandpa Wager was nothing but supportive unlike grandpa Laker who was against the idea of 2 women dating, worse, his daughter dating the daughter of his rival.

It's kind of the happy ending of Romeo and Juliet.
