Chapter 178: Urgess Family

Perseus POV

"Hmm, Tehios is so...colorful, it's very blinding."

"Well unlike you, we all like to have things in other apart from black, gray, white or dark blue." Mom Nyra complained

"I wear light blue sometimes." I grumbled

The people in Tehios are in celebration as it's very rare that this event happens, even though the regular citizens are in a good mood, politicians and the top brass are not, the tension is tenser than ever as everyone knows that both sides plan to go all out and fight in a final battle the next time war, and the winning side will be the new dominant nation.

Both sides seek survival, which reminds me of this book about something related to Hegemony or whatever from a realist perspective.

So, back to the colorful decorations, this must be what you guys feel like when you leave your rooms for the first time, everything is just so new and bright despite its existence being close by, this must be what it feels to be shut-ins, I can somewhat sympathize with y'all now.

And this is coming from a guy who was forced to be stuck in a room forever, a forced shut-in who has experienced more things in life in 3 mins than your whole maidenless lives.

But I can't complain out loud since my grandparents are enjoying the festivities and I shouldn't spoil the mood, blah blah blah.

Currently, my moms is trying to buy these exotic snacks from this vendor who is clearly inflating the price more than it already is once he recognize that we're not locals.

"He's clearly lying about the price."

"Is this one of your stupidly accurate lie detection again?" Mom Nyra asked "Or are you just don't want us to buy it because you hate it?"

"The former, he's lying, I know he's trying to make profit, but it's just blatant."

"Ah, white-haired boy, brown skin, obnoxious attitude... you must be the infamous Perseus Silver." the vendor chimed in all of a sudden

Obnoxious? I'm clearly one of the most respectful person in the world. And infamous? I'm clearly a nice guy, why would I earn such a terrible adjective that is used to describe me.

"Yeah, he is obnoxious." Grandpa Laker agreed

"What?"

"Don't worry, I still love you." Leilah reassured

"Why are you telling me not to worry? Are you saying I am obnoxious?"

"Don't forget rude." Ruka chimed in

"And incredibly brazen." Maple mumbled

Bruh.

"Well lad, I don't know why you're walking around these ends, but you got a bounty on you." The vendor chuckled "It's not one of those bounties from knights or other law enforcers, it's requested by the lord of the yellow rose, lord Pike, it seems he wants you dead or alive."

"Well, that's not the worst thing I've heard."

My moms just skip the stall since the guy still wouldn't lower the price, especially after knowing how much money I have. Which I just asked Leilah to steal some of the stuff through the shadows.

The rest of the day went fine, but a bounty on my head, that's interesting, isn't it? And from such a high profile guy too, Luckily I brought Maple along, she wanted to spend time with her sisters, she's strong and she doesn't need sleep, so I don't have to worry about not getting sleep.

And on the way back, even grandpa Laker noticed it, we got spies checking our every movement and I'm gonna need to send them a message, the moment we arrived at the hotel, I didn't even need to whisper to Buddy to know, he got the message the moment we arrived on the site, he left and I know that some of them are going to end up dead and he'll return back with the job done within 3 hours or something.

*****

And sure enough, right when we were about to eat dinner, Buddy returned, which means he got the job done, he then took out several badges from his storage and hand it to me, it was of the Urgess family, northern church and the eastern one, that's surprising...But I'll investigate the matter later.

But at the buffet, I came across Mark Reddish who is staying at the same place, which is also weird since he should be with Zoris' representatives. The next saint of Maple, well I'm meeting a lot of important guys today, fun.

Man, I don't know if it's funny or sad that his goddess is going around right past him several times getting food and he doesn't have a fricking clue.

"Hey mate, I'm about to cause another scene at the tournament, I'm gonna need your help to deescalate the situation then."

"No...." he groaned "Dude, I barely got any sleep last time. Don't you know that I'm going to join the heroes' party?!"

"Uh duh, and I'm training you for it, when you join them, you're going to be fighting a lot and not get a lot of sleep and they wouldn't even notice since their bodies are superior to ours."

"That's not the point." he facepalmed "How do you even earn the goddess' favor?"

"I just gave her cringy pick-up lines and she's been stuck with me since."

"Right, and the day you successfully invite her over for dinner is the day I run across Tehios naked." he mocked me sarcastically

We then talked about a few things before he brought up the topic of the Urgess family, the family of the spy who brought over the heroes, apparently they're holding an auction selling things that they managed to bring over from the other side, which goes for a ridiculously high price.

I think Jerah mentioned about that once, and it's mostly just useless tech or language books used to impress dumb nobles into just expanding their already overwhelming wealth. But he then later mention to me that they are expanding their resources for something which he can't tell me since he doesn't like to get involved.

Dawn hinted that she knows but she can't tell me just because she's not sure, I might need to go investigate more about the family.
