Chapter 405: My problem (5)

3rd Person POV

The enemy army advanced steadily through the verdant landscape, a dark and formidable force in stark contrast to the serene beauty of the surrounding countryside. Their approach was relentless, and their numbers were vast, a sea of armored soldiers with banners waving ominously in the wind.

At the head of the army, a human mage who was the general of the human army, a commanding figure on horseback led the way, their golden armor reflecting the cold and his expression was stern, a mask of unwavering determination, and their eyes were filled with the hunger for power and conquest.

The soldier marched in disciplined formation, their boots echoing in perfect harmony with the rhythm of their drums. It was a sight of sheer terror and malevolence, a force driven by ruthless intent and a desire to lay claim to the village that had long been a target.

|I don't know how to write marches.|

As they neared the village, the war drums intensified, setting an ominous tone that echoed throughout the valley. The village defenders, watching from their hidden positions, braced themselves for the impending clash.

The war drums thundered in the distance, a deafening, rhythmic beat that sent shockwaves through the village. It was a deliberate tactic employed by the enemy, not only to rally their own troops but also to strike fear into the hearts of the villagers as the booming drums were a menacing instrument designed to intimidate and terrify.

As the enemy advanced, the thunderous percussion sent tremors through the ground, shaking the very earth beneath the villagers' feet. It was a disorienting and nerve-wracking experience, meant to weaken the resolve of those within the village's defenses.

But the war drums served another greater purpose. The forest surrounding the village was inhabited by creatures of extraordinary danger and power, creatures that even the most seasoned warriors among the enemy troops feared.

These beasts were the most dangerous in the world, legendary for their ferocity and unpredictability. The loud, rhythmic pounding of the war drums was intended to scare away these creatures, keep them at bay, and prevent them from intervening in the battle.

"These guys truly are idiots." Perseus said as he watched the scene from the top of the tree

"Yeah, luckily I got fired, because I would have definitely accidentally revealed it." Laker replied, "I mean, it definitely will intimidate the animals...but..."

The enemy's booming drums reverberated through the valley, intending to strike fear into the hearts of the villagers. But little did they know, their loud synchronized symphony had inadvertently triggered a disastrous turn of events.

Loud noises could definitely intimidate the creatures inhabiting the woods, it was a knowledge passed down through generations, however, they are fiercely territorial and fiercely protective of their home.

The creatures dwelling within took the drums as an intrusion on their territory, unlike other creatures that would typically flee from loud noises, these beasts were different, they would attack their enemies head-on rather than run away. The drums did scare the animals, but even a cornered rat will bite a cat.

From the heart of the woods, a thunderous, fiery spectacle emerged. A horde of massive fire boars, fearsome creatures with molten-red fur and flaming tusks, charged out and crashed into the marching army.

The fire boars, creatures known for their fiery temperament and untamed power, bore a fierce grudge against any intrusion into their territory. The blaring war drums, which had initially incited them to rage, now triggered a burning fury within them. Their eyes glowed with an otherworldly fire as they tore through the enemy's lines.

"We haven't had those fire boars in a while." Laker thought aloud

"That's because they're hard to cook." Perseus shrugged, "The meat is incredibly tough, and due to its flame resistance, you'll have to spend days just to cook it properly."

Amidst the chaos and the roaring flames, a series of massive, serpentine forms emerged from the ground. These were rock serpents, The ground quaked as the rock serpents, with scales resembling intricately carved stone, emerged from their slumber and towering high above the battlefield.

Their massive, serpentine bodies rose high into the air, casting ominous shadows over the battlefield. As the enemy army tried to regroup and recover from the onslaught of the fire boars, they found themselves trapped within the embrace of the rock serpents.

The creatures used their immense, stone-coated tails to strike at the enemy's ranks, causing havoc and destruction wherever they went. Their rocky hides were nearly impervious to harm, and they struck with the relentless force of a landslide.

As the enemy soldiers struggled to handle the relentless assault of the rock serpents and the fiery onslaught of the fire boars, a new, even more sinister presence entered the fray. Out of the depths of the forest, a pack of shadow tigers emerged, their sleek, obsidian-black fur rippling like living shadows.

"At this point, do we even need the traps if they can die due to their own stupidity?" Perseus asked

"Well, I tried to tell them not to be arrogant, but oh well." Laker responded, "Maybe if they listened to my advice and actually had the guts to hunt and eat strong magical creatures, they would've stood a better chance."

The shadow tigers moved with an eerie, almost spectral grace. Their feline forms seemed to melt in and out of the darkness, rendering them nearly invisible as they stalked their prey. The enemy soldiers, already overwhelmed by the rock serpents and fire boars, were caught off guard as the shadow tigers pounced.

With terrifying efficiency, the shadow tigers tore through the enemy's ranks, their haunting roars filling the air as they struck down their opponents. Their victims, trapped within the grip of the rock serpents, were powerless to defend themselves.

"Woah, I didn't want to see the eating part." Perseus said while gagging.

"Well they're eating their intruders, it's only the circle of life, kid, we eat them, and they eat...those guys."

"You've eaten a tiger?"

"My father had the habit of abandoning me in the forest to fend for myself, sometimes, food is food."
