Chapter 406: My Problem (6)

Perseus POV

Should I summon a storm to rain some lightning bolts down? I mean, they're still soldiers who were brought to fight us, those animals and beasts will only hold them for like 2 days at best before they properly regroup and overwhelm the animals.

I then walked to the other side of the tree and took out my binoculars, the demon navy are almost on the shore. The numbers are lesser than expected since the aquatic beasts definitely took some ships down, but this world's navy is their favorite force to use, so they fared better than the humans who came on foot.

The demons will also have to come on foot through a shorter patch of forest, but it's also just as dangerous if not slightly more since the village did lure some of the stronger creatures there.

We got ships of our own, they're docked and hiding at the more misty and foggy parts of the sea, half are going to intercept the second fleet of demons while the other half are going to attack the first fleet from behind.

Enemies from all sides of the village now surround us, it's kinda bad since no one likes being surrounded. The tree is too durable, so they'll have to climb up and can't just cut the tree down, well, the demon lord and all the heroes can, but that's another matter.

Might as well summon a storm since it'll scare them a bit. I do not have the help of the goddesses for this war, after all, might as well start showing off what I can do.

"Buddy, start heading for the demons, check to see if Kano is on the first fleet."

At that moment, Perseus ran with his sword out and it started to crackle with intense electrifying force as he aimed it at the human army.

The heavens roared, and a blinding bolt of lightning descended from the sky, converging upon Jonathan's impact point. The lightning illuminated the battlefield in an electrifying blaze, casting a pulsating light over the combatants below.

The searing power of the lightning bolt struck the heart of the enemy forces, engulfing them in a cataclysmic explosion of energy. The ground shook, and the air itself seemed to tremble as the destructive force of nature descended upon the enemy, scattering their ranks and incinerating all in its path.

He then ran to the other side where he now is going to use it on the demons. With a resounding swing through the air, a colossal bolt of lightning descended from the sky and struck the surface of the sea with an earth-shaking impact, sending ripples across the water.

Piercing the waves and illuminating the ocean with a blinding, white-hot brilliance. The sea surged and heaved in response to the cataclysmic force, while the demons on their ships were caught in a whirlwind of electrifying destruction.

The lightning bolt struck the fleet, sending vessels splintering and shattering in all directions. The demons were consumed by the extraordinary power of the storm, their shrieks of agony echoing over the sea.

After about half an hour or so, Buddy returned to Perseus' side and nodded his head, Kano was among those in the first fleet, and despite the damages, he was definitely alive and well, he's a general for a reason, such attacks won't kill him.

Kano POV

As the general and admiral of the fleet, I watched in horror as the heavens unleashed their wrath upon us. A bolt of powerful lightning crashed upon our fleet with a force that sent shudders through my very being.

For a moment, I found myself suspended in a world of torment and chaos. The tempest raged around me, and my comrades screamed in agony. The once-proud ships disintegrated into splintered debris, and the sea became a swirling whirlwind of destruction.

Fear gripped my heart, not just of the celestial power we had witnessed, but of the village that had harnessed it, specifically Perseus, the problem of our people. We had underestimated the villagers and their ability to harness such elemental forces.

In that moment of chaos, I realized that our mission was not one of mindless conquest, but of necessity, they should not be allowed to live.

My problem, however, was that I had underestimated the depths of their capabilities. As a demon general, I had been tasked with leading the assault on this village, but I had failed to anticipate the true extent of their strength.

Our forces initially filled with confidence, now found themselves scattered, broken, and demoralized after getting to shore. It was clear that victory was slipping from our grasp at this point.

As I surveyed the desolation around me, I could see the doubt etched in the eyes of my comrades. The deafening cries of pain and chaos had given way to an eerie silence that hung heavily in the air.

I knew that our path forward would be a treacherous one. The battle for the village was no longer one of blind conquest but a brutal struggle against forces that we had sorely underestimated.

"Seriously, what is with that sword of yours?" Laker exclaimed, "Is that even legal to own?"

"Of course." Perseus replied, "I have already gotten the approval of the goddesses. Besides, like a lot of godly things, I can't use them at their full potential, I'll die, I ain't a god."

"I mean, you can become one, right?"

"Yes, I can, but that involves one of the gods retiring and choosing me to fill their position."

"Hmm...I wouldn't know what to think if you became a god. But anyway, let's refocus on our issue at hand, my problem with the way things are going is that you're going to tire yourself out from using such a weapon, it's not meant for mortals to wield, if our strongest person tires out, we'll all lose."

"The energy it draws from me is immense, and you're right. If I exhaust myself...we're not exactly defenseless."

"Yeah, Aminu is going to take on Kano, you rest yourself now." Laker replied, "I can't believe that they would send the leader of this assault on the first fleet, but...they probably thought that we were going to lower our guards since the leader doesn't usually accompany the first fleet."
