Chapter 443: Proclamation (2)

Perseus POV

This guy just came here to pick a fucking fight, what a petty moon god, but hey, whatever, it is what it is. Them coming earlier set off some of our traps' timers, we can't set them to activate immediately since they'll just be a waste since the stronger enemies come out later.

If he's just here to watch, might as just do it through a video call, he's useless, oh he's now off to visit the other roses, useless.

He's here. My father, the moon god...

I couldn't believe it. After centuries of wondering and imagining this moment, he's finally here. The man who left our world, who left me, for another realm altogether. There's a surge of emotions of both resentment and curiosity, but surprisingly, I feel strangely over it.

He stands there, a familiar stranger. But how do you even begin a conversation after all this time?

I take a deep breath, trying to appear casual, even though my heart is racing.

"Hey," I manage, trying to keep my voice steady. "You made it."

"Are you going to slap me like Lilith?" he asked

"Who's Lilith? Perseus' dead ex-girlfriend?"

"What do you mean ex-girlfriend?"

"She's alive?!" Me and Reiner exclaimed

"Uh...yeah, she's the goddess of demons? Your sister?"

Oh...no...I knew that I was forgetting someone...shit, I know that I've barely spent any time with those gods, but...to not recognize her even when I've met her a few times...I just thought she was some demon shaman who lived for a long time since I've recognized her face, to think that she was the goddess this whole time.

I'm a horrible older brother.

"Wait, excuse my insolence, but Perseus is dating a rose and a powerful goddess?" Reiner asked, "How is that even fair?!"

"Did you not tell him about Maple?" Dad asked

"No, forget that, are you here to stop us from going after Perseus? We do not plan on sparing him."

"Go ahead, I couldn't care less about that little...gremlin." Dad said with quite a scary glare, "I'm just here to check up on the rest of you and...for your own good, I would say to take the earlier warning seriously and go back, I'm staying to help contain the damage even though I'm not joining in."

"So the warning earlier wasn't Perseus' doing?" I asked cautiously, "If you have to warn us like this, I think that we'll consider it."

Even though there was a warning against Perseus earlier, it's hard to determine whether it was a trick for us to stay away or not.

"Good, because the force that's about to descend upon you guys is more than powerful enough to destroy this world."

"Reiner?" I turned to the prince who had a complicated expression.

I get it, Perseus killed his brother, and with this being the most opportune time, we can't let this go...

"Let's go check it out anyway, if it is as dangerous as you say, I'll make sure that Reiner can at least come out alive." I then turned to those behind us, "Gather the elites, change of plans!"

3rd Person POV

At the northern islands, the sky rippled and cracked as jagged streaks of cosmic light split the heavens, revealing an ominous, swirling vortex. The air quivered with an otherworldly hum as the massive portal unfurled across the horizon with power levels detected much stronger than before.

From within the gaping maw of the portal emerged thrones, a grotesque-looking angelic being. Each throne bore intricate carvings of twisted seraphim, their faces contorted in malevolent grins, their wings stretching wide like shadows cast by impending doom.

The ground trembled beneath the weight of their arrival as the seraphim descended, their presence casting an eerie glow. Their eyes, ablaze with baleful light, surveyed the foreign world with a chilling hunger, thirsting for dominion over its unsuspecting inhabitants.

After all the strong angels came out, the portal then flooded out an army of angels, with each stride, their presence tainted the air, suffusing it with an oppressive weight that would choke the breath of those unfortunate enough to witness their arrival.

As they advanced, the world seemed to shrink in their presence, bowing beneath the weight of their power, and finally, Cain, the sins, God, and the human army came out last.

They saw that their army was floating in the air, and there was also one person greeting them by his lonesome. However, they were not stupid to not detect the others hiding close by, ready to intercept at any point in time.

"Took you lot long enough!" He greeted sarcastically, "Y'all got breakfast before coming here, at least?"

His presence, though formidable, paled in comparison to the sheer magnitude of the invading army. As he faced the oncoming tide of fallen angels, there was an unsettling dissonance between his power and theirs. Lightning crackled in the sky around him, casting an eerie glow upon his figure. His eyes glowed with an unsettling intensity, a fiery determination that burned with arrogance.

With a self-assured smirk etched upon his face, he surveyed the oncoming legion as if they were mere pawns in a game he had already mastered. His confidence, bordering on arrogance. (Just a reminder for the author to post the pic here.)

The crackling lightning, the glowing eyes, and the smirk that adorned his face were like feeble sparks in a tempest, a feeble challenge against an unstoppable force. As the horde drew closer, their dark radiance eclipsed his own, their collective power dwarfing his lone, he still stood in a defiant stance, what's more insulting was that he was not even wearing proper armor, just a jacket.

The lone figure in the sky, despite the overwhelming odds and the menacing army closing in, raised a hand in a brazen gesture, a taunting challenge flung at the approaching horde. His laughter echoed with a hint of madness, a defiance that bordered on recklessness.

"Y'all think that y'all can beat me with just this much?!" Perseus continued to taunt

"Yo, I knew I liked this guy." Curly laughed as a response
