Chapter 520: Adult (4)

Phineas POV

As I tumbled into the abyss, my mind faded into the darkness as I fell, and a sense of weightlessness engulfed me. The landing was abrupt and rough.

When I rose to my feet, the emptiness enveloped me like a suffocating cloak. Darkness pressed in from all sides, and despair threatened to consume me. But then, my mind cleared and I could see my hellish surrounding, the fire, the rough ground...

But amidst the bleakness, a distant glimmer pierced the shadows, a single point of light that beckoned to me. A tree.

Its silhouette stood tall and proud against the abyss, a beacon of hope in a sea of despair. My heart quickened with longing as I fixated on that distant promise of solace. With every step forward, the void seemed to recede, replaced by a flicker of warmth that emanated from the tree.

I trudged onward, each stride fueled by the yearning to reach that solitary haven. The memories of war, the pain and suffering, faded into the background as the tree drew nearer. Its branches reached out like eager arms, welcoming me into its embrace.

With every step, my anticipation grew. The Tree of Eden, a symbol of peace and prosperity, is whispered of in tales of old. Could it truly be before me, offering sanctuary in this desolate realm?

Is it even the tree? Lucifer's realm won't lead me to a fake, right?

As I drew closer, details emerged from the darkness. The tree's leaves shimmered with an ethereal glow, casting dancing shadows upon the ground. It seemed to pulse with life, a vibrant oasis amidst the barren wasteland.

My pace quickened, driven by an unyielding desire to bask in the tree's radiance. Each heartbeat echoed the rhythm of my fervent longing. I could almost taste the sweet promise of salvation that lingered in the air.

And then, at last, I stood beneath its sprawling branches. The Tree of Eden loomed overhead, its presence a tangible force that stirred something deep within me. I reached out, trembling fingers brushing against the rough bark as if to confirm its reality.

At that moment, a sense of peace washed over me, banishing the shadows that clung to my soul. For here, beneath the Tree of Eden, I found solace. Here, amidst the chaos of war left behind, I found a glimpse of paradise.

"Phineas?" a male's voice called

I then turned to see Sarah, Trevor, and Lloyd, the adopted half-demon royalty.

"None of you ate the fruits, did you?"

"No, we'd know not to after you sent a warning to everyone after the tournament." Sarah answered

"I still can't believe that you guys still met in secret." Lloyd commented, "Well, we've been stuck here for a while, and if Perseus plans on keeping us here forever, there's nothing that we can do about it."

"How much food does everyone even have in their storage spell?"

"I'd say 3 years worth if we ration sparsely."

"I got a good...including all of you, probably a 2-month span."

"Man, y'all aren't gonna kill each other?" a familiar voice interrupted

I turned to see...the god of Spring and Summer, accompanied by the god of the Moon and Perseus' fox following well behind the man. A wind spirit was also nearby, the same one who held off the giants in a one-sided fight.

The 2 heroes got in their stance, but a shout of 'Kneel' from Perseus was more than enough.

"Rejoice losers, for these 3 gods want to negotiate to have you out." Perseus announced, "But that's if you promise to behave well."

"Behave well?!" Sarah retorted, "Your black rose partner killed millions."

"The millions whom you guys have led to invade and burn everything, my home was destroyed because of it."

"Don't you dare twist the truth! We fought for what we believed in, while your side just killed everyone and everything while doing everything in your power to make everyone else suffer just because you're all just a tad bit superior."

"Beliefs don't justify atrocities. And now, you're at the mercy of those you once sought to conquer. Heck, y'all have those 2 losers behind me help y'all out and still lost. Besides, let's be adults here. "

"You also had another intervention! Who's that guy?!" she pointed to the wind spirit

"I've borrowed him from an alternate me," He shrugged, "Y'all got God and angels, so I borrowed a wind spirit or cloud spirit, I don't remember, but let's be quick so that he can get back home."

"What happened to God?" I asked

"Sent back to your base safe and sound as he prepares to have Gabriel succeed in his position. I plan on having him live the rest of his life as a mortal just to see what he's done wrong."

"You can't blame God for that!"

"Well the other world's a mess because of human nature, but it should also be his job to stop Cain and intervene when the world is going to shit, if he had just stopped Cain, I would have continued living on the other side."

"So you're going to reveal your existence as a reincarnator?"

"Well, to most of the higher-ups of my enemies, it's suspected, and I'll confirm it for you, though I rather not have to just casually reveal it, I'll be sure to command you to do it afterward just to make sure."

"What do you want us to do?" Trevor asked

"Good question." Perseus complimented, "You see, my dear Trevor-"

"We're not that close."

"My dear Trevor, Cassius decided to retire just a few moments ago, and Saber followed because everyone he knew was also planning to do the same. They see that the world is heading in a direction where they are no longer needed, and Jerah does not think that their saints or popes are qualified...so it'll be you 2 heroes. Congrats."

"I didn't agree to that."

"You can pass it on later to someone worthier, but until then, you'll have to hold on. As for Phineas and Lloyd...y'all will join in as my ambassadors to help with the mission of coexistence, man it feels good to be in charge, I should be a world conqueror more."
