No Family Is Perfect

"To be honest, your parents are not what I thought at all," Zoe told Olivia on their way to the convenience store.

"What do you mean?"

"To be precise, I imagined they wouldn't like me because of my background and I might have to reconsider my friendship with you."

Olivia looked at her, stunned, "Really? You would give up on me if my parents didn't like you?"

"They're your parents, there's no way I would let you have issues with them over me. At the end of the day, they're your family and I'm just an outsider." Zoe explained to her.

"In that case, I guess I am lucky such a thing would not happen. Also, I'm the one you're friends with, not my parents." Olivia hinted at the fact she would stand by her nonetheless.

A warm feeling grew in Zoe's chest, this relationship wasn't so bad. And to think she had been working with Olivia for months and never thought of associating with her. She had been missing out on a lot.
