Chapter Ninety Seven:

The drive back home was in utter silence as they were both lost in their thoughts.

Renee prayed silently that her son was fine and he wasn't in any grave danger.

As they pulled drove into the neighborhood, they could hear the siren from the ambulance which made Renee's heart stop.

"Please drive faster Damian," Renee said anxiously.

As Damian pulled up in front of the house, Renee saw the flashing lights of the ambulance parked outside the house. Panic and concern washed over her as she wondered what could have happened? Is her son alright? She got out of the car immediately Damian stopped.

Neighbors were outside, curiosity drawn all over their faces as they wondered what was happening. The sound of muffled voices and hurried footsteps added tension to the air.

She saw the paramedics walking out with a stretcher. Her heart broke into a million pieces and guilt flooded her being as she watched her son's unconscious body on the stretcher.
