CHAPTER EIGHTY
The sight of the black blood throws me off but I feel sharp teeth sink into my hind leg and I shake my leg, throwing the wolf off of it.
I can see my wolves fighting around me but they’re not any match for them.
There is a viciousness and ruthlessness to the injured wolves that I’ve not seen before which is pushing my own wolves back.
Growling, I lean against a tree and Kayla seems to understand my intentions because she instantly starts climbing the tree, choosing a high branch to cling on.
Wolves aren’t really good at climbing trees.
Now, free from her small burden, I go after these mindless creatures, using my powerful jaws to kill them.
They’re not my wolves anymore and I can no longer reach them.
Even as each that is like a physical blow to my heart, I have to protect my own wolves.
I can feel sharp teeth sink into my flesh as they try to attack me but I keep going, refusing to stop.
