Friends And Past

"Allow me," Pete said, opening his car door before Lina could reach for it. Lina paused and raised her eyes to him.

"You don't have to do that."

"Do what?" Pete asked, slightly raising a brow.

"Hold the door for me. I can do it myself." Lina told him, her tone sharp and hard as if to tell him how serious she was.

"I know you can, but I can't let you do it while I'm here. It's against my principles, and I want to do it." He told her, and with the way her eyes hardened, he knew she wasn't pleased.

Lina silently peered at him. She couldn't understand why he was doing all this despite her blunt rejection towards whatever he was intending. She had made it abundantly clear she wasn't going to sleep with him, and that was, period.

"Are we going to stand here all afternoon, or will we go find that store?" Pete arched a brow at her. Lina composed herself and stepped into the car, leaving what she wanted to say for later.
