Pete was dazed. His eyes were still and his lashes unflitting.
The loud thud of his heart was strong in his ears and he wondered if he had heard her clearly.
"Are you saying —" He trailed off, his mind wrapped in a haze of shock.
"Yes," Lina nodded, certainty and confidence heavily gleaming in her eyes.
A second passed, and then other another, and few more others followed too.
Suddenly made anxious by his unexpected silence, Lina felt her heart beating in her hand and each beat reverberated through her pores.
"You're... you're silent. Please say something." She muttered.
"I..I don't know...I mean I was expecting this, but...it feels like a dream, Evelina. Are you sure this is real?"
Amused by his daze, she nodded and leaned in with a smile, and very slowly she kissed him. With all passion and sincerity of emotions she showed him how real she was and how serious her words were. "You're not dreaming, Pete. I'm right here."
