~ Now midnight from last chapter~
'it really is impossible... this body is still too immature...' I was practising meditation, but I have been at it for hours now and I have gained nothing from it. Each time I try to enter a state of complete focus, my mind wanders soon after.
*Grumble...*
'I need to eat something first...'
I walked out of my room to grab something to snack on. Passing by Bruce's door that was surprisingly open.
'Interesting... Bruce left his hideout chamber's open...' Jin analyzed.
For some reason my instincts drew me to check if something was up, Bruce was not one to leave 'that' door open, he made sure it was accessible to only me, Alfred and him alone, just in case of Richard finding the place, any one of us could keep it shut.
Entering the room, I immediately saw that the bat cave entrance was open.
'Okay... something is definitely wrong here...'
I quickly entered the Batcave, dashing down the corridor with all my speed.
When I made it there, I saw Alfred, and it was clear he was panicking. Looking around more, I saw that Bruce wasn't there with him...
'I've got a bad feeling about this...'
Getting closer to Alfred, I heard him speaking to someone... and he sounded fearful...
.
.
.
"Sir! Be careful, you have gotten shot too many times, you are losing too much blood, find a way to escape quickly. I've linked you a route out of their gaze. Follow it as soon as possible!"
"I can't just leave them here, Alfred, *He huffs* joker will kill them all, I can't... just let happen... I need to figure out a way to save them. There are even children here..." Bruce responded.
'It was father. He got shot?... was it an ambush? What's this about joker and hostages!?' Jin thought.
.
.
.
I hated very few things in my life, and not knowing important information was one of them.
"Alfred! What happened here?"
He turned around, looking at me frustrated, sweating bullets. When he took a good look at me, his face contorted even more. He looked as if he didn't want to speak with me...
"I... you cannot let you involve yourself in such a matter, young master Jin... I will take care of this. Please head back upstairs...'
Alfred said, quickly turning off his contact with Bruce. Getting to the point, he knew Jin would want to involve himself in this debacle... but he was simply far too young to do so... Strong or not.
"That's impossible Alfred and you know it, it sounds like father is in trouble... and you want me to simply leave!?"
"JIN! I WILL NOT BE REPEATING MYSELF. LEAVE, NOW. YOU ARE A CHILD!"
Jin stepped back a bit from what transpired...
Alfred shouted. It was the first time Jin heard the man do such a thing, which meant the situation was far more serious than he anticipated.
"Alfred... I cannot honour your request. It would haunt me if something a happened to father or others... especially if I had the capabilities to stop it.."
Alfred looked at the boy. He knew Jin was right, but he was simply far too young to take up such a task, whether he was capable or not.
But, he had no way of stopping Bruce from trying to save those people, especially since there were children there, and he would understand. He wouldn't let it happen either...
At the moment, he was at a crossroads. Debating on what to do.
"We don't have much time, Alfred! I could have been there by now to save him and the others. Just give me the location!" Jin said, interrupting his thoughts.
Alfred was even more pressured now. But he knew he couldn't hesitate anymore.
.
"..."
.
"...Alright, I'll give you the location to help master Bruce, but please jin... do not let me regret this..."
Alfred made up his mind, he decided he was going to have trust in Jin. He had seen firsthand how capable the boy was during training, and he wasn't that far off from master Bruce in terms of anything...
"He is near the abandoned asylum on cobble-pier Street. you can't miss it... Take this, it's a communicator. I will tell you what to do and where to go"
Jin took the device and swiftly left the cave. He dashed out through the Manor without a sound. Moving at incredible speeds.
Alfred tried stopping him, but it fell on deaf ears...
.
.
.
'I can't waste any moment... I'll transform to speed up the process,' Jin thought.
Jin immediately did so, moving far faster than before. He was nothing but a blur to a regular human, akin to air itself.
However, while transforming, he felt a ringing sensation in his ears. Right where the communicator was. Confusing him greatly.
Feeling his ear, he didn't feel the device anymore... but he saw and felt an entirely new device that was red and black, now protruding from his earlobe.
'Was this the communicator... did it... merge with me!?' Jin thought.
This was all new to him... his form could now adapt and use devices now... but he couldn't dwell on it. Right now, he had to help the people and his father...?
Going at Mach speeds, Jin easily made it to the asylum in mere moments. Taking the stealthy approach.
He saw goons looking around the area and hostages nearby.
.
.
.
Looking around, Jin was analyzing the surroundings from the top of the asylum. While staying out of sight...
'I'll have to take care of this quickly... bombs seem to be nearby... while the hostages are clearly tied up. 7 adults and 10 children...'
This information agitated Jin to no end...
'That bastard joker... how demented can he really be?'
"Jin? Jin? Can you hear me? If so, stay where you are. Master Bruce is nearby... I will inform him of your arrival"
