Pharygon Sect and The Curse

A Few Days Later, Outside Yang Kai's Residence

Kate opened the door, only to see someone land violently in front of her. "Greetings, Sir," she said, recognizing the figure immediately.

"Where's Yang boy?" asked Ding Yao, the Eastern Army Commander, brushing off the dust from his robes.

"He's still in seclusion. Please wait; I'll call him right away," Kate replied politely.

"No need. If he's in seclusion, don't disturb him. I'll wait here," Ding Yao said firmly, taking a seat nearby.

Moments later, Zhong Liang walked up to them. "Why work so hard? You're still injured, right?" he asked Ding Yao, concern evident in his tone.

Before Ding Yao could respond, the door creaked open. Yang Kai stepped out, looking slightly disheveled. "What's going on?" he asked, glancing between the two commanders.

Kate slipped back inside, muttering to herself, "I'll let those old ghosts talk to each other." She took a seat, closed her eyes, and entered a meditative state.

Inside Kate's Small Universe

"Dr. Mei," Kate said, her voice commanding, "since we've already developed a small turret capable of firing attacks as strong as a Fifth Rank Open Heaven Realm, let's design a weaker version."

"What are you planning, Milady?" Dr. Mei asked, curiosity tinged with concern.

"A vacation," Kate replied with a mischievous smile.

Some time later, Kate opened her eyes to find Yang Kai sitting across from her, watching her with a mix of suspicion and curiosity.

"What are you doing?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I should be asking you that," Yang Kai replied.

"Actually, this is perfect," Kate said, a spark of excitement flashing in her eyes.

"You're planning something again, aren't you?" Yang Kai said with a sigh, already bracing himself.

"No, it's quite simple," Kate said, brushing off his concern. "Let me enter your Small Universe."

"Huh? Why?" Yang Kai asked, clearly taken aback.

"The flow of time inside your Small Universe is four times faster than here. I can cultivate much faster there," Kate explained.

"You can cultivate, but what about my foundation? Won't it get affected?" Yang Kai asked, frowning.

"It's okay; I won't corrode it," Kate reassured him. "Come on, I just want some peaceful time. This place is so barren!"

Yang Kai sighed, considering her request. Having her live inside my Small Universe could actually be beneficial. She can assist me when needed.

"All right," he said finally, opening a portal to his Small Universe.

"Thanks a lot!" Kate said cheerfully as she stepped inside.

Yang Kai watched her carefully as she suppressed her cultivation to the Sixth Rank upon entering. He let out a sigh of relief. "At least she's being cautious," he muttered to himself before closing the portal.

Inside Yang Kai's Small Universe

"Mine is more excellent, but this is good too," Kate said, examining her surroundings.

Yang Kai's body materialized behind her. "Even the way you phrase that screams you don't like losing," he teased.

"Why are you here?" Kate asked, turning to face him.

"Is it not alright to be in my own Small Universe?" Yang Kai replied casually. "Anyway, what's your next plan?"

"Go to a city," Kate said, picking a direction and starting to walk.

"The nearest city that way is quite far. How about heading south instead?" Yang Kai suggested.

"Okay, lead the way," Kate said with a shrug.

In Purple Phoenix City

"So this is what it's like," Kate said, looking around with mild interest. Suddenly, her expression shifted. "Oh, right. Before I forget..."

Yang Kai raised a brow, curious. "What is it?"

"Tell this to an Old Ancestor: Su Yan will enter the Ink Battlefield with the remaining two Universe Four Pillars and the Twelve Minor Universe Pillars," Kate said nonchalantly.

"WHAT?!" Yang Kai exclaimed, his shock evident.

"I asked them to search for those treasures," Kate explained.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU CONSULT ME FIRST?" Yang Kai shouted, his tone edged with frustration.

Kate crossed her arms. "What's the problem? If you don't like it, go there and take them yourself. If those old fogeys know about these treasures, they'll agree anyway."

"My problem isn't the decision; it's that you didn't tell me before deciding!" Yang Kai retorted, his voice rising.

Yang kai sigh in defeat. "You know what? Forget it. Once I beat you, I'll punish you so that you repeat it again," he said teasingly.

"That's if you can," Kate shot back as she walked towards the city outskirts.

On the Outskirts of Purple Phoenix City

"What are we doing here?" Yang Kai asked as they reached a secluded spot.

"I want to make a sect here," Kate declared.

"Then how about a place farther from here? I know a spot full of mountain peaks," Yang Kai suggested.

"Let's see it," Kate said with interest.

In the Far North of Purple Phoenix City

"It's here," Yang Kai announced, gesturing to the landscape. "Hundreds of mountain peaks, dense Emperor Qi it's perfect."

"Here," Kate said, tossing a scroll to Yang Kai.

"What's this?" he asked, catching and opening it.

"That's the kind of place I want to create here," Kate explained.

Yang Kai frowned. "Why do you need a space this large?"

"I'm going to build something," Kate said vaguely.

Yang Kai sighed. "What, are you planning to conquer my Small Universe?"

"How about conquering my heart first?" Yang Kai said teasingly, a sly grin on his face.

"How tasteless," Kate shot back, unimpressed.

"Fine, wait here. I'll terraform this landscape to your liking," Yang Kai said, flying off.

After Some Time

"Now this is more like it," Kate said, admiring the transformed landscape. "Hundreds of mountain peaks with a void in the center it's perfect."

"How about workers?" Yang Kai asked.

"No need," Kate replied confidently.

"Then I'll take my leave. I have other things to handle," Yang Kai said, preparing to depart.

"Wait!" Kate called out.

"What now?" Yang Kai asked, turning back.

"Can you make a natural hot spring on my mountain peak? And make it cozy and nice to live in?" Kate requested.

"I already picked your mountain peak and customized it based on what you like—and what my other wives like to do. Go check it out. If you need changes, just let me know," Yang Kai said with a smirk.

"Oh, I see. Thanks," Kate said, smiling warmly.

"Alright. Enjoy your stay here," Yang Kai said before disappearing.

On Kate's Mountain Peak

"Hm! This place is indeed gorgeous!" Kate exclaimed, her eyes sparkling as she explored her mountain peak. "I'll name this place The Serene Spirit Mountain Peak," she declared proudly, landing in the center.

She opened her Small Universe, and Dr. Mei stepped out gracefully.

"Is this the place, Milady?" Dr. Mei asked, her gaze sweeping across the breathtaking landscape.

"Yes, this is where we'll build the mechs and conduct our projects," Kate said, watching as Dr. Mei took in the surroundings.

"This place is so beautiful," Dr. Mei remarked, admiration in her voice.

"Of course! I had Yang Kai customize it for us," Kate replied with a satisfied smirk. "I want you to adapt these mountain peaks as the new headquarters for our Knightmare Frames Division."

"Yes, Milady," Dr. Mei said, bowing slightly. "I'll begin the construction immediately so we can start sooner."

"Go on," Kate said, waving her hand dismissively.

Dr. Mei nodded and flew off to begin her work. Kate watched her with a thoughtful expression.

"Even with such a busy life, she's still managed to reach the Emperor Realm," Kate mused to herself. "I bet with her power, she could defeat most of the characters in Honkai Impact," she thought, a hint of pride in her voice.

With that, Kate began building her own residence, a serene smile on her face as she worked to make the mountain truly hers.

After a Few Months

"And that's it!" Kate declared proudly, admiring her newly completed residence. "This place was built with coziness in mind, so it's perfect!" She smiled to herself before taking off into the sky.

"I'll visit the market first, see what they're selling, and make some connections. But before that, I should find an Array Master to protect my base. Hmm... what should I call it?" she mused while flying toward Purple Phoenix City. "Let's call it The Empyrean Mountain Peaks," she decided.

It wasn't long before she arrived at the bustling city. "For now, let's investigate the forces here," Kate thought as she entered a lively restaurant and took a seat near the window.

A female attendant approached, her eyes quickly taking in Kate's elegant attire. Her dress looks so expensive. Is she a member of a major force? the attendant wondered nervously.

"What does Senior wish to eat?" the attendant asked politely.

"Bring me all your dishes and the finest wine," Kate ordered casually. Then, with a glance at the attendant, she added, "And tell me about the major forces here."

She must not be from around here, the attendant guessed. "The strongest force here is the Seven Stars Workshop. Second would probably be the Purple Phoenix Palace, and the third is definitely the Hundred Sword Sect. If Senior wishes, I can write it down for you," she offered.

"All right," Kate replied, and the attendant hurried away.

"Seven Stars Workshop... I think that's Yang Kai's sect," Kate thought as she gazed out the window. "Forming a friendship with them would be a good start."

As her food began arriving, Kate pondered her next move. "This will be a peaceful time, full of memories. But it'll also mean staring at papers again," she sighed inwardly. "Perhaps I'll visit the Seven Stars Workshop to find an Array Master."

In the middle of her thoughts, an unfamiliar voice interrupted her.

"Little girl, you've been waiting a while, but it looks like you've been stood up. How about letting me sit here so you don't look so pathetic?" a rough-looking man sneered.

Kate glanced at him dismissively. "You look like a thug. I don't need your company."

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" the man shouted, his face twisting in anger. "I asked nicely because you're beautiful, but that won't happen again!" He reached out to grab her shoulder.

But before he could touch her, he froze in place.

"WHAT'S GOING ON? I CAN'T MOVE! AND THIS PRESSURE!" the thug exclaimed in panic.

The restaurant fell silent as Yang Kai entered, his gaze cold and commanding.

"How dare you try to touch my woman," Yang Kai said, his voice low but dangerous. The pressure of a Second Rank Open Heaven Master radiated from him, making the thug tremble.

"P-PLEASE FORGIVE ME!" the thug stammered, barely able to speak under the immense weight of Yang Kai's aura.

"If you don't want to die, leave now and never come back. If I see you talking to my wife again, I'll make sure your parents won't recognize you," Yang Kai said coldly.

The thug bolted out of the restaurant, crying and shouting, "I PROMISE I WON'T DO IT AGAIN!"

Kate raised an eyebrow, watching the scene unfold. "You really have a lot of free time for someone so busy," she remarked as Yang Kai took a seat across from her and began eating the food on the table.

"I just found a little bit of free time," Yang Kai replied casually.

"Looks like you're completely comfortable calling me your wife," Kate said, narrowing her eyes slightly at him.

"Well, you didn't stop me, so I thought it was okay. Do you want me to change it?" Yang Kai asked, glancing at her.

"No, it's okay. Plus, it's widely known anyway," Kate replied, a small smile tugging at her lips.

"I came here because I've been watching you for a while," Yang Kai admitted, his tone curious yet cautious. "I noticed that you're creating your own materials. How can you do that?"

"You've been watching me?" Kate's gaze turned sharp. "Stop doing that. You look like a creep a stalker watching a woman."

Yang Kai flinched, visibly stung by her words. "I know, you're right. I'm sorry," he said, lowering his head slightly. "It's just... I'm really curious. I want to understand how you're able to build a sect here or where you even get the capital for it. But I didn't expect you'd have such an ability to create things." He hesitated before continuing, "Plus, I don't really know much about you, so I guess I'm curious about that too."

Kate studied him for a moment, noting the faint embarrassment on his face. This is the first time I've seen him look embarrassed, she thought to herself.

"My name is Kate Apocalypse," she began. "I cultivate the Dao of Destruction primarily, but I'm also versed in all the Primordial Daos. I'm particularly proficient with the Ice Element."

"Primordial Daos?" Yang Kai asked, his curiosity deepening. "What do you mean by that?"

"From the beginning, Chaos divided into the Yin-Yang Grand Daos the Genesis and Terminus Daos," Kate explained patiently. "The Genesis and Terminus Grand Daos then gave rise to the Five Element Daos, which in turn birthed all the myriad Grand Daos." She paused to gauge his reaction before continuing. "There are four Primordial Grand Daos: Genesis, Terminus, Space, and Time."

Yang Kai's eyes widened as he listened.

"The Genesis and Terminus Primordial Grand Daos are responsible for the creation and dissolution of all the myriad Grand Daos," Kate elaborated. "Meanwhile, Space and Time, alongside these myriad Grand Daos, form the structure of the 3,000 Worlds."

Yang Kai's astonishment was evident. "I-Is this one of the reasons your Small Universe's foundation is much better than mine? Because you cultivate the four Primordial Daos?"

"That's right," Kate replied calmly.

"That explains a lot," Yang Kai admitted, nodding in realization.

"Don't tell this to anyone, okay? This is a secret," Kate warned, her tone firm.

"Of course," Yang Kai assured her. Then, as if a thought struck him, he asked, "Can you teach me the Genesis Dao?"

Kate shook her head slightly. "Its real name is the Creation Dao, and it's a special kind of Dao. You can't just start cultivating it like any other Dao you need something specific to initiate it. But I don't know what that is."

She glanced at him thoughtfully before continuing, "When I transformed into a Divine Spirit and since I'm a new species a furnace-like object appeared in my Knowledge Sea. It gave me two beads that entered my body along with the Creation and Destruction Daos Manual. That's how I began cultivating it."

Yang Kai stared at her, awestruck.

"I see. If that's the case, then forget it," Yang Kai said, letting out a soft sigh. "I'll send a message to the Seven Stars Workshop to inform them of your arrival."

"Don't," Kate interjected firmly. "I can take care of myself. Plus, it's a new experience for me, so don't take that away from me."

Yang Kai studied her serious expression and nodded. "You're right. I'll leave everything to you since it's your own sect in the first place."

"Yeah, thanks," Kate replied with a small smile.

The two continued their meal, the conversation shifting to lighter topics as they chatted about trivial things and enjoyed the calm moment together.

After some time, Yang Kai stood up. "Then I'll be going now," he said, pointing in a particular direction. "That's the way to the Seven Stars Workshop." With that, he disappeared.

"Thanks," Kate said, watching him leave before starting to walk toward the direction Yang Kai had indicated. "The purpose of this visit is to borrow their Array Master and establish a good relationship," she thought to herself.

As she made her way, her path was suddenly blocked by a woman.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Xue Ling, the Palace Master of Purple Phoenix Palace," the woman said with an inviting smile. "I've come here today to invite you to our humble sect."

"Why?" Kate asked with a raised brow.

"This city belongs to my sect, so when you and your partner arrived, I paid special attention to the both of you. I'd like to invite you to a gathering in our sect's grand hall," Xue Ling said with a warm tone.

"I see," Kate replied, quickly deducing the real motive. "She probably got scared because of Yang Kai's pressure," she thought.

"I'm sorry, but I'm quite busy and can't attend," Kate said curtly.

"Then, is Senior heading toward the Seven Stars Workshop?" Xue Ling asked cautiously.

"That's none of your business," Kate replied, starting to get annoyed.

"P-Please tell us what Senior desires. If it's within our means, we can provide it for you," Xue Ling said, desperation creeping into her tone.

"If another Supreme Elder joins the Seven Stars Workshop, they'll likely become the strongest sect in Void Land," Xue Ling thought anxiously.

"I'm looking for an Array Master to set up a defensive array for my newly established sect," Kate finally said.

"Perfect!" Xue Ling exclaimed, her tone brightening. "Our sect's Array Master is the greatest in Void Land. In fact, the Array Master at the Seven Stars Workshop is a student of ours."

"I see," Kate replied after a moment of thought. "Then let's go."

"Many thanks, Senior!" Xue Ling said, her face lighting up with relief and excitement.

After some time inside the Purple Phoenix Palace Grand Hall, Xue Ling approached Kate with a warm smile. "Did Senior enjoy the gathering?"

"Yeah, it was quite fun," Kate replied casually.

"I'm pleased to hear that," Xue Ling said, her tone brightening. "Senior mentioned wanting to establish a sect. How about forming an alliance with us?"

"I guess that's okay," Kate said after a brief pause.

"Great!" Xue Ling exclaimed excitedly, clapping her hands together. "Then, may I ask what kind of sect Senior is planning to build?"

"It's a sect for Artifact Refiners, to put it simply," Kate replied.

"Artifact Refiners?" Xue Ling echoed, curiosity evident in her voice.

"Don't misunderstand," Kate clarified quickly. "We refine palace artifacts, ships, weapons of war, and other grand creations. We don't deal with simple swords or mundane items."

"Palace artifacts?" Xue Ling asked, her confusion apparent.

"You don't know what a palace artifact is?" Kate said, surprised.

"No, I've never heard of it," Xue Ling admitted.

"Didn't the people from Yang Kai's Small Universe originally come from the Outer Universe?" Kate wondered silently. "Have they lost a lot of knowledge over the years they've been isolated here?"

She shook her head slightly. "If you don't know, then forget it. You'll understand once we finish making one."

"I see. Then I won't ask further," Xue Ling said politely.

At that moment, an old man approached them. Xue Ling gestured toward him with pride. "Senior, this is my grandfather, Xue Ping, the greatest Array Master in Void Land."

"Then I'll take him with me," Kate said decisively.

"Senior, may I come along as well?" Xue Ling asked eagerly.

"Go on," Kate said with a nod before flying off, with Xue Ling following close behind.

After some time, they arrived at the Empyrian Mountain Peaks. At the main peak stood a modern-looking building with elegant, ancient features. Dr. Mei stepped forward to greet them.

"Welcome back, Milady," Dr. Mei said respectfully.

"This is Grandmaster Xue Ping. He's the Array Master. Take him to the location where you want the arrays set up," Kate instructed.

"Yes, Milady," Dr. Mei replied with a nod.

"Then let's go, Ms. Xue Ling," Kate said, turning to her companion.

"Please, Dr. Mei, take good care of my grandfather," Xue Ling said before following Kate.

At Serene Spirit Peak

"Once everything is established, we can proceed with developing the relationship between our sects," Kate said calmly.

"There's no rush," Xue Ling replied with a reassuring smile. "It's more important to focus on fully establishing your sect first."

"I see. Thank you for your understanding," Kate said, her tone warm.

After a Year, Inside the Headquarters

"Alright, since almost everything here is nearly finished, it's time to bring out the others," Kate said as she opened her Small Universe. A large group of people emerged, filling the area with a lively energy.

"Everyone, listen to me!" Dr. Mei called out, her voice commanding attention.

"Our purpose here is to make progress on our Mech Project, so let's all work hard and stay focused!" she encouraged, her determination evident.

Turning to Kate, Dr. Mei continued, "Milady, leave everything here to me."

"Yes," Kate replied with a nod before walking out of the headquarters, leaving Dr. Mei and the team to their work.

On Serene Soul Peak

Kate landed gracefully, her figure exuding calm authority, as she walked toward her residence. "It's about time for me to appoint my Sect Elders," she thought to herself while entering her Small Universe.

Inside Kate's Small Universe

"I still have one more Character Card. Since Dr. Mei is already in charge of the Research Division, I'll create someone to manage the sect," Kate mused as a card materialized before her.

Holding it firmly, Kate declared, "I am Kate Apocalypse, your Master. I summon you, Huan Caiyi, from the Against the Gods universe!"

The Character Card in her hand dissolved into radiant particles, which coalesced into a humanoid shape before her. As the glowing form solidified, Huan Caiyi's figure emerged, kneeling immediately before Kate.

"What is Milady's command?" Huan Caiyi asked, her voice steady and filled with deference.

"This is my sect, the Pharygon Sect. I appoint you as its Chief Manager. While there's nothing to oversee yet, I will bring people here in the coming months. When that happens, I'll leave the administration to you," Kate explained.

"Milady's words are my command," Huan Caiyi replied.

"You don't need to be so formal. Just be casual," Kate said with a small smile.

"Understood," Huan Caiyi replied, her tone relaxing slightly.

"Good. Introduce yourself to Dr. Mei and begin working with her," Kate instructed.

With a respectful nod, Huan Caiyi took flight, leaving Kate alone in her Small Universe.

"Now I just need to deepen my understanding of the Five Elements," Kate thought to herself, turning her focus inward.

Inside Kate's Small Universe

"Looks like she's out," Kate thought to herself as she ascended high into the skies of her Small Universe, gazing across its vast expanse. "There seem to be more and more people entering my Small Universe through the Universe Leaves," she murmured before vanishing into thin air.

Inside Kate's Residence

Kate opened her eyes, sitting calmly in her residence. "The peak closest to mine will be perfect for Huan Caiyi. I'll set up a formation there to contain Demonic Qi so she can cultivate freely," Kate decided, her thoughts focused as she began planning.

Three Months Later

"That should be everyone for now," Kate remarked, surveying the new cultivators who had been accepted. "Only 300 people were chosen this time. I'll return when there's more news."

Dr. Mei and Huan Caiyi stood respectfully nearby, watching as Kate prepared to leave.

"Take care, Milady," Dr. Mei said with a bow.

"We'll ensure everything runs smoothly in your absence," Huan Caiyi added.

Kate gave them both a nod before flying into the horizon, her form disappearing into the skies above the Pharygon Sect.

Two Weeks Later

Kate landed near a bustling city, her presence subtle but commanding. After walking through the streets for some time, she noticed a commotion a woman being dragged along the ground by a man.

"What's going on here?" Kate thought, her eyes narrowing as she approached the scene.

"Excuse me," Kate said firmly, addressing the man. "What is this woman's crime to be treated like this?"

The man stopped, turning to look at her with a mocking sneer.

"A First-Order Emperor Realm cultivator?" he scoffed. "You have no right to question me, but if you want to come along, I wouldn't mind teaching you your place."

"Miss, please just leave!" the woman cried, her face streaked with tears. "Don't get involved. It's not worth it!"

Kate's voice grew louder, drawing the attention of passersby. "Is this how women are treated in this city?!"

The man's expression darkened, his smug demeanor fading. "How dare you question the city's rules!?" he barked. "This woman refused the young master's marriage proposal. By decree of the city lord, she's to be sent back to her family and exiled from this city!"

"The city lord's son is an elite disciple of the Hundred Sword Sect," the man added with pride. "Their word is law here."

"Miss, please, don't make this worse," the woman begged through her tears. "You'll only get hurt!"

The man turned on the woman, his anger flaring. "You still have the nerve to protect others?!" he snarled, kicking her hard.

Kate's eyes grew cold, her expression unreadable. "I see. I understand the situation now."

Without warning, she grabbed the man by the head, lifting him off the ground with ease. Her grip tightened as he struggled, his confidence evaporating.

"My father said he wants to meet you," Kate said, her tone icy.

"LET ME GO!" the man yelled, panic setting in. "I'm the city lord's right-hand man! You won't leave here alive!"

Kate's voice dropped to a whisper, laced with menace. "If you don't want to meet my father, then your only option is to die."

In an instant, the man was engulfed in violet flames, his screams echoing across the street. Kate's expression didn't waver as she tossed his charred body in the direction of the city lord's mansion.

She turned to the woman and gave a small nod before continuing down the street.

"I'll deal with the city lord next," Kate thought, her steps resolute. "I need a city. The Pharygon Sect will require steady earnings."

Outside the City Lord's Mansion

Kate stood calmly, gazing at the imposing structure in front of her. "How should I handle this?" she mused, her thoughts briefly flickering with options. "I suppose the simplest solution is to erase the current leadership."

Just as she was about to act, the woman from earlier hurriedly approached her, desperation etched on her face.

"Miss! This is far too dangerous!" Xiao Yan cried, clutching at Kate's arm.

Before Kate could reply, a booming voice erupted from the mansion.

"WHO DARES TO KILL ONE OF MY MEN?!"

The oppressive aura of City Lord Pei filled the air, causing the onlookers to scatter. Xiao Yan trembled slightly.

"That's City Lord Pei," Xiao Yan whispered. "He's a Third-Order Emperor Realm Master and a subordinate of one of the elders of the Hundred Sword Sect."

Kate turned to Xiao Yan, her voice steady. "What's your name?"

"My name is Xiao Yan. I'm the former City Lord's daughter," she replied.

"I see," Kate said, a flicker of understanding in her eyes. "So they forced this marriage to consolidate power." Kate paused for a moment, then smirked. "Let's fix that by reinstating your father as City Lord."

As Kate raised her hand to act, City Lord Pei emerged from the mansion, his eyes narrowing as he studied her.

"The energy around this girl is strange," he thought, a bead of sweat forming on his brow.

"May I ask your purpose here? Are you the one who killed my subordinate?" City Lord Pei asked, trying to maintain his composure.

Kate chuckled lightly. "First, you ask me a question. Then, you dare to accuse me in the same breath." Her smile turned cold. "You're an eyesore, and I've decided to remove you."

As her aura shifted, she began to summon her World Force.

City Lord Pei's expression twisted into panic. "WAIT! PLEASE WAIT! THIS CITY IS UNDER THE PROTECTION OF THE HUNDRED SWORD SECT! CAN YOU AFFORD TO OFFEND THEM?!"

Kate's gaze didn't falter. "If the Hundred Sword Sect comes, they'll kneel before me just like you should."

With a graceful motion of her right hand, she summoned a massive violet dragon claw that loomed over the City Lord's mansion. Its immense pressure rippled through the city, leaving everyone frozen in fear.

City Lord Pei's face paled. "THAT'S NOT EMPEROR QI! THE HEAVENS HAVE FORSAKEN ME!" he thought as his knees buckled under the weight of Kate's power.

Desperate, he lunged at her, releasing his full strength in a final attempt to fight back.

Kate barely acknowledged his effort as her Yin-Yang Divine Mirror activated, effortlessly neutralizing his attack.

"You're weak," Kate said icily. With a flick of her left hand, a beam of pure World Force shot out like a laser, striking City Lord Pei and dissolving him entirely.

As the violet dragon claw descended, it pulverized the mansion into dust, leaving nothing but rubble in its wake.

Kate dusted off her hands. "There, it's done."

Turning to Xiao Yan, she spoke with authority. "From now on, you will manage this city. It will be under the protection of the Pharygon Sect. Soon, someone will come to assist you with the transition."

Xiao Yan stared at her in awe, unable to speak.

Kate continued. "You don't need to worry about the Hundred Sword Sect. I'll deal with them personally. And don't forget, the Pharygon Sect is allied with the Purple Phoenix Palace. You'll be safe."

With that, Kate took to the skies, leaving Xiao Yan and the city behind to begin its new chapter.

Meanwhile, in the Outside World

Yang Kai stood amidst the vast expanse of space, surrounded by the swirling chaos of creation as he opened Universe Paradises. Suddenly, a concentrated beam of violet World Force erupted from his abdomen, shooting into the sky like a blazing laser.

"CAPTAIN!" the Dawn Squad shouted in unison as Yang Kai fell to his knees, his face contorted in pain.

Inside Blue Sky Pass

Yang Kai lay motionless on a bed, his eyes staring lifelessly at the ceiling. The room was filled with the tension of those gathered around him.

"What happened to him?" Zhong Liang, one of the Eight-Rank Open Heaven Masters, asked with concern.

Feng Ying stepped forward, her expression grim. "Captain was opening a Universe Paradise when suddenly a violet World Force burst from his abdomen and shot into the sky."

Lu An furrowed his brows. "Violet?"

Zhong Liang's expression darkened. "Is this Kate?" he muttered to himself. "She's been living inside his Small Universe for quite a long time now, and this is the first time anything like this has happened."

Ding An, another Eight-Rank Master, stepped closer. "It could be internal damage. Yang Kai's Small Universe might have taken a hit, creating a breach that caused this reaction."

Zhong Liang nodded. "Let me examine him." He placed his hand over Yang Kai's body, his aura gently probing the state of Yang Kai's Small Universe.

After a while, Zhong Liang exhaled heavily. "Brother Ding is correct. Yang Brat's Small Universe sustained a severe blow. The connection between his Small Universe and his body has been severed, leaving him in this state."

Lu An frowned. "But his Small Universe is more stable and robust than most of ours. What could have caused such damage inside?"

Zhong Liang's gaze turned thoughtful. "I'm afraid Yang Boy's consciousness is trapped within his Knowledge Sea. His body and Small Universe are currently locked away. We can't reach him as things stand."

Ding An sighed. "If that's the case, there's little we can do for now but hope for his swift recovery."

Zhong Liang turned to the gathered group. "For the time being, the Dawn Squad will retreat and remain at their camp or focus on resource mining. We can't risk another incident like this."

His tone grew heavier as he continued. "Send a message to every pass. We need to locate anything that might help Yang Kai recover. Without the Light of Purification, we'll face significant setbacks against the Black Ink Clan."

The room fell into a solemn silence, the weight of Yang Kai's condition pressing heavily on everyone present.

After a Month

Inside the command hall of the Blue Sky Pass, a tense discussion unfolded between the top-ranked masters.

"Did you find anything?" Ding Yao asked, his brows furrowed in concern.

Zhong Liang nodded, though his expression remained grim. "The Old Ancestor has already notified everyone about Yang Kai's condition. Only one solution has emerged so far."

"And what is that?" Ding Yao pressed.

Zhong Liang took a deep breath. "Kate must leave Yang Kai's Small Universe. Once she's out, she can help Yang Kai by entering his Knowledge Sea directly to stabilize his soul and repair the breach in his Small Universe."

Ding Yao frowned. "How do we accomplish that? Yang Kai is a Seventh Rank Open Heaven Realm master, and his soul strength rivals that of an Eighth Rank. Reaching his Knowledge Sea is no small feat."

"The Old Ancestor of Yin Yang Pass has a method," Zhong Liang explained. "They can send someone close enough to Yang Kai's Knowledge Sea and safely bring Kate out. This should give his Small Universe a chance to heal."

Ding Yao shook his head in frustration. "That brat has nine wives outside, not counting Kate. How are we supposed to know which of them has the strongest connection to him?"

Zhong Liang chuckled wryly. "That much is obvious it would be his first wife, Su Yan."

Ding Yao raised a brow. "Su Yan? How can you be sure?"

"We interviewed Yang Kai's parents directly," Zhong Liang replied. "Su Yan was his first wife, and their bond is deeply rooted. However, Kate recently sent a message to all of his wives, instructing them to search for the remaining four Universe Pillars and twelve Minor Pillars. As a result, none of them are currently at home, and we have no idea where they are. We do know that the nine wives split into two groups for their search, with Su Yan acting alone. Her whereabouts remain unknown."

Lu An crossed his arms, a hint of impatience in his tone. "So what are we going to do now?"

Zhong Liang sighed. "For now, the only viable option is to send Yang Kai to the Yin Yang Pass. They'll work on bringing Kate out of his Small Universe so it can repair itself."

Ding Yao frowned. "Void Land and Star Boundary have already sent people to search for his wives, but they're looking for rare treasures. How likely are they to succeed anytime soon?"

Di Yan interjected. "If we use Kate's situation as a benchmark, there's a risk others might try to exploit or harm them."

Zhong Liang waved a hand dismissively. "There's no need to worry. That brat's wives are all highly capable and well-known. Most people wouldn't dare cross the Void Land or Star Boundary Madams. Even so, we'll remain vigilant."

After Five Years in Yin Yang Pass

Zhong Liang stood with a heavy expression, staring at the immobile figure of Yang Kai. "This brat's condition is still the same," he muttered, frustration evident in his tone.

Lu An, standing nearby, placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Leave this to me. You've already been away from Blue Sky Pass for too long."

Zhong Liang hesitated for a moment before nodding. "All right. I'm counting on you. I hope you'll bring back some good news."

With that, Zhong Liang turned and walked away, his form fading as he returned to Blue Sky Pass, leaving Lu An.

Inside Yang Kai's Small Universe

Kate opened her eyes, taking in the familiar surroundings. "After returning to the Sect, I studied my Five Element resources," she thought, standing up. "And I was right to do so. I can feel even more untapped power within them."

She stretched lightly and stepped outside, her thoughts continuing. "Plus, in just 20 years, the Pharygon Sect has been officially recognized, especially after we erased the Hundred Sword Sect."

As she walked further, a massive golden hand suddenly emerged from the void, reaching for her. Kate instinctively prepared to resist but stopped herself just in time. "Crap! I almost used my full power. I forgot I'm still inside Yang Kai's Small Universe!" she realized, her heart racing.

She allowed the golden hand to envelop her, suppressing her power. "I wonder what's going on. This hand's aura is incredibly strong. I can't risk damaging Yang Kai's foundation."

As the hand lifted her up toward the void, her eyes widened in surprise. Beyond the veil, she saw a gathering of people staring back at her, their expressions a mix of curiosity and apprehension.

"Huh? Senior Lu An?" Kate said, glancing around in confusion. "What is going on here?"

A familiar figure caught her attention. "Wait, Old Ancestor? You're the one who helped Yang Kai purify me!"

The Old Ancestor of Yin Yang Pass chuckled lightly, putting Kate down. "Little girl, you've really caused a huge problem this time."

Kate frowned. "What problem? What's going on?"

The Old Ancestor sighed. "You've done something that severed Yang Kai's body from his Small Universe. Now his soul is likely trapped in his Knowledge Sea."

"I did?" Kate asked, her expression turning to shock. "I remember using a technique I created inside his Small Universe, but it was just a spur-of-the-moment thing. The World Force involved couldn't have been more than that of a Low-Rank Open Heaven Realm!" Beads of sweat began to form on her face.

The Old Ancestor narrowed her eyes. "What kind of technique could you have deduced to cause such a disruption?"

Kate hesitated. "It's... complicated. A top-secret technique of mine. It involves the Dao..."

The Old Ancestor waved her hand. "Forget it. What's done is done. What matters now is waking him up."

Kate's eyes softened as she approached Yang Kai and knelt beside him. "Helping him repair his Small Universe might not be difficult, but waking him up... That's another matter. You'd better call for Sister Su."

Fei Yu Shan, the Northern Army Commander, interjected. "We've already done that, but we haven't found her yet."

Kate frowned. "She won't arrive in time. I sent her far away on a mission."

The Old Ancestor sighed. "Then how do we resolve this? Yang Kai is crucial to the survival of the Human Race."

Kate gently touched Yang Kai's hair, her expression tinged with guilt. "I only wanted to test using Dao Marks as lasers. I didn't expect this to happen."

After a moment of silence, she straightened her back. "Since I caused this, I'll find a way to fix it."

Her hand began to glow faintly, drawing the Old Ancestor's attention. "What are you planning, little girl?"

Kate didn't look up. "Can you all please give us some privacy? Since I can't enter his Knowledge Sea the normal way, I've thought of another method."

The room fell silent for a beat before the gathered elders exchanged looks, some of them blushing in embarrassment.

"YOU OLD FOGGIES STILL DARE TO THINK DIRTY?!" the Old Ancestor snapped, scaring the others into retreating instantly.

Once the room was cleared, the Old Ancestor turned back to Kate. "Now that they're gone, are you sure about this? You still have your Primordial Yin, don't you?"

Kate's face flushed crimson. "I'm not going to do that! I just need to prepare myself for this technique properly."

The Old Ancestor softened, offering a faint nod. "If you say so. I wish you luck, little girl."]

Some time later, in a quiet residence where Yang Kai and Kate were resting, Kate sat beside Yang Kai's still body, deep in thought. "Maybe I can stimulate the Soul Warming Lotus within him by using my Dao Warming Spirit Lotus," she murmured to herself.

She placed her hand on Yang Kai's forehead, channeling her power. However, to her dismay, there was no reaction. "How about Su Yan's Primordial Spirit?" she thought, deciding to try another method.

Concentrating, she guided Su Yan's Primordial Spirit through her hands and into Yang Kai's forehead. But just as the spirit neared, an invisible force blocked its entry.

"Even this doesn't work?" Kate muttered, a hint of disbelief in her voice. "I DON'T BELIEVE THIS!" she suddenly exclaimed, her resolve hardening as she stimulated her own source power.

At that moment, something unexpected happened. Yang Kai's form shimmered, and a magnificent Dragon Shadow emerged from his body. Simultaneously, Su Yan's Primordial Spirit formed a majestic Shadow Phoenix. The two ethereal beasts soared into the air, drawing the attention of everyone nearby.

A brilliant light engulfed Kate, momentarily blinding her. As her vision returned, she found herself standing in the air above a radiant Soul Warming Lotus Island.

There, Yang Kai stood, looking at her with a melancholic smile. "Little girl, you really hurt me this time."

Kate's eyes softened, and she smiled despite herself. "It's been twenty years since I last saw you, and you welcome me like this?" she teased, stepping closer to him.

Yang Kai chuckled lightly. "Even though I was in a coma, I could still hear everything happening outside."

Kate's expression turned determined. "Don't worry about it. I'll save you."

"How?" Yang Kai asked, concern evident in his tone.

Kate's smile widened. "Just watch me, okay?" she said confidently. "The only thing I need to do is reconnect your Small Universe to your body after removing my World Force from it."

Yang Kai frowned slightly. "How can you do that?"

Kate's gaze turned serious, yet playful. "Since you've been hearing everything outside, then you know I sent Sister Su somewhere far away. Do you want to know where that is?"

Yang Kai raised an eyebrow, sensing something unusual in her tone. "What are you saying?"

Kate hesitated for only a moment before speaking. "What if I told you... I come from another universe, another 3000 Worlds?"

Yang Kai's eyes widened in shock.

"Every person has something we call 'Fate,' and every 3000 Worlds has something known as the Karmic Library," Kate began, her voice carrying a solemn weight. "In my 3000 Worlds, I was just like you someone chosen by the High Above."

She paused, her expression clouded with sorrow. "But I betrayed them," she admitted softly, her gaze lowering. "I erased my name from the Karmic Scroll and left that place, traveling here. But by doing so, I disrupted the balance. With someone missing from the Karmic Scroll, the karma of all is now in disarray."

Kate's piercing gaze locked onto Yang Kai, her next words sending chills down his spine. "So it needs another person or me to return and restore balance."

Yang Kai's eyes widened in alarm, his voice trembling with panic as he asked, "Did... did you send her back to that place?"

Kate remained composed, though a trace of regret flickered in her eyes. "Someone must inherit my Karmic Fate," she said.

The surroundings responded to her words, growing turbulent. The once-calm Golden Sea around them transformed, roaring to life as it birthed countless golden dragons, their forms swirling with immense power.

"KATE!" Yang Kai shouted, his voice echoing through the chaotic realm.

Kate closed her eyes, her resolve unwavering. "I've already removed my World Force from his Small Universe. Now, I just need to stimulate his soul to awaken," she thought, her hands trembling as she directed her energy.

Her focus sharpened. "His will is strong. I hope it's enough for him to return on his own."

"You don't have to get angry," Kate began, attempting to remain composed despite the tension in the air. "I'm the chosen one in that place. Of course, since she's my replacement, she'll be treated with high regard. It's just that..."

Her words faltered, hesitation evident as she stopped mid-sentence. "I was destined to marry in that place, so it's probably going to be the same for Sister Su."

Before she could finish her thought, Yang Kai appeared in front of her, his hand gripping her collar tightly. His eyes blazed with fury, and the sheer anger emanating from him created a suffocating pressure in the air.

"I get it now," Yang Kai spat, his voice low but trembling with restrained rage. "This isn't your world, so you don't care about anyone from here. That explains a lot of your behavior."

Kate's eyes widened in shock as Yang Kai's words pierced through her like a blade.

"I didn't expect that a tiger was living in my backyard all along," Yang Kai said coldly. His grip tightened momentarily before he released her collar only to grab her by the neck instead.

"ACKK!" Kate choked, her hands instinctively moving to pry his fingers away.

Yang Kai's face was devoid of any warmth as he spoke, his voice dangerously calm. "You'd better save her, or I'll torture you so thoroughly that you'll beg for death instead."

He loosened his grip just enough for Kate to speak, though his anger remained palpable.

"I- I can save her," Kate stammered, her voice hoarse from the pressure. "But I need your help."

Yang Kai's glare didn't waver as he demanded, "What do you mean?"

Kate gasped for air before continuing. "I sent her there... but it wasn't now. It's about 20 years ago."

The room fell silent, the weight of her words hanging heavily between them.

Kate's right hand shot up, delivering a sharp chop to Yang Kai's hand, forcing him to release his grip. She straightened her posture, her expression cold and unyielding.

"Don't forget I'm stronger than you," Kate said, her voice carrying a chilling authority.

Yang Kai froze, his anger momentarily eclipsed by the weight of her words.

Kate's gaze bore into him, her tone sharp and merciless. "You're right. I don't care about anyone here. Since I've chosen Su Yan as my replacement, she only has herself to blame for having such a useless husband. One who can't even save her because he's stuck in his meager Knowledge Sea."

Her words cut like a blade, leaving Yang Kai stunned as Kate turned away. Without another glance, she disappeared, leaving only silence in her wake.

Inside the residence where Kate and Yang Kai currently resided, Kate sat quietly, her thoughts swirling.

"Now that I've stimulated his soul, he must be feeling desperate right about now," Kate thought to herself. Her musings were interrupted when she suddenly felt a cold hand touch her own. Startled, she opened her eyes to see Su Yan standing before her, a warm smile lighting up her face.

"Junior Sister, it seems Husband is still in your heart," Su Yan said, her voice gentle yet teasing.

"S-Sister Su, what are you doing here?" Kate stammered, caught off guard.

"We've already found two of the Minor Pillars of the Universe, so I made my way back," Su Yan explained. "I also received the Phoenix Clan's approval to travel freely, as long as I deliver treasures to them. Luckily, I arrived just in time."

Kate composed herself quickly. "Since Sister Su Yan is here, you can use your Yin-Yang Unification Art to stimulate his soul, and I'll handle the reconnection process."

Su Yan's cheeks flushed red at the suggestion.

Kate noticed and quickly reassured her, grinning. "Don't worry, I'll close my eyes. I can even seal my five senses if that makes it easier for you."

"Seal your senses?" Su Yan asked, surprised.

"Yes," Kate replied confidently. "I can manipulate my own senses or even others'. Trust me, it'll be fine."

Su Yan hesitated for a moment before nodding.

"Then let's begin. The sooner, the better," Kate said as her body became engulfed in a faint violet glow, blocking all World Force around her. Closing her eyes, Kate allowed her consciousness to plunge into darkness.

"There, it's done. I can't hear, see, or even feel anything," Kate said. "Of course, I won't hear Sister's reply, so please forgive me. You can start now."

The room fell into silence as Su Yan prepared to perform the art.

"I can detect Yang Kai's Small Universe since I've been trying to refine it and turn it into Universe Leaves," Kate thought to herself as she concentrated deeply. After a long while, a faint World Force caught her attention.

"This... this is the World Force of Yang Kai and Sister Su," Kate murmured, her eyes narrowing as she analyzed the energy.

"Hmm, a unification of World Forces?" she pondered aloud. "That must mean Yang Kai is responding."

With newfound determination, Kate channeled her abilities and began the delicate process of reconnecting Yang Kai's soul to his Small Universe, carefully weaving the severed threads of his essence back together.

After a long period of intense concentration, Kate finally managed to reconnect Yang Kai's body and Small Universe. As she opened her eyes, the sight before her made her pause—Yang Kai and Su Yan lay together in bed, their forms bare and intertwined.

"Looks like Senior Sister can take care of you on her own now," Kate said with a faint smirk as she stood up, brushing off the lingering exhaustion.

"How about joining us, Junior Sister Kate?" Su Yan teased, her tone playful yet inviting.

Kate shook her head, a small, knowing smile on her lips. "I'm sorry, but I have something to do." Without another word, she turned and walked out of the room, her figure disappearing into the corridor.

Outside the residence, Kate sat quietly, her gaze fixed on the dark skies above. "I can't believe I actually managed to reconnect it," she thought to herself, releasing a deep sigh. "I was able to sense his Small Universe thanks to the help of the Universe Tree within my own."

As the weight of recent events settled in her mind, she stood and stretched. "Since I'm already here, I might as well test my speculation." With that, she took to the air, flying towards the battlefield of Yin Yang Pass.

After some time, she landed gracefully outside the pass. The area was eerily quiet, the remnants of battle all but cleared. "Looks like this place has already been cleaned of Ink Smoke," she murmured, scanning the surroundings as she began her search.

Before long, she sensed someone approaching.

"Little girl, what are you doing here in the Northern Battlefield?" Commander Fei Yu Shan's voice echoed as she stepped into view.

Kate turned to greet her. "Ah, the Army Commander of the Northern Army. Greetings, Senior. I came here to test a hypothesis of mine."

"And what hypothesis would that be?" Fei Yu Shan asked with a raised brow.

Kate took a breath, her expression turning serious. "During my adventures, I obtained a legendary treasure the inheritance of the Heretic God."

Fei Yu Shan's eyes narrowed slightly. "Heretic God?"

"The place it came from is quite complicated," Kate began. "But the Heretic God was a literal deity. I inherited his Heretic God's Profound Veins, and my blood shares certain similarities with his. The specialty of this inheritance lies in the Heretic God Seeds."

"And you have these seeds?"

Kate nodded. "I currently possess the Fire and Darkness Seeds, granting me complete control over and immunity to their respective elements."

Realization dawned on Fei Yu Shan's face. "When you were an Inked Disciple, you were different. Is this because of the Darkness Seed? You could convert Ink Force into World Force directly are you trying to determine if this was due to the seed?"

"Senior is correct," Kate replied. Her attention was drawn to a swirling mass of Ink Smoke nearby. "Perfect timing. I found some."

As she moved toward the Ink Smoke, Fei Yu Shan hesitated. "Should we call Yang Kai, just in case?"

Kate waved off the concern. "No need. I possess two of the Universe Four Pillars; I'll be fine."

She placed her hand on the dense Ink Smoke, her expression calm yet focused. "If this works, I can only marvel at my luck," she thought to herself. Slowly, her hand began to absorb the Ink Force, which converted seamlessly into World Force, further enhancing her foundation. A wide smile spread across her face.

"Did it work?" Fei Yu Shan asked, her tone filled with curiosity.

"Yes!" Kate exclaimed, exhilaration in her voice as she absorbed more of the Ink Force. "It's a little fast, but being able to do this is already amazing. The World Force I lost is returning at an astonishing rate."

Fei Yu Shan watched, impressed and surprised by the sight.

"Truly remarkable," the commander murmured.

"Anyway, why did the Commander come here?" Kate asked, her gaze shifting to Fei Yu Shan.

"Oh, I just saw you flying this way. Since your existence is quite special, I followed you here just in case," Fei Yu Shan replied casually.

"Special?" Kate repeated, tilting her head.

"Yes. I suppose you don't know, but the Old Ancestors are preparing something. They'll likely request you to copy it," Fei Yu Shan said.

Kate frowned slightly. "I don't know if they're aware, but my copying abilities require my lifespan as energy to use," she said with a hint of worry.

"You don't have to worry," Fei Yu Shan reassured her. "They're already searching for treasures or pill recipes to extend lifespans. There are plenty in the Mortal World, but such techniques haven't been developed further because of the vast lifespans of Open Heaven Realm cultivators. Even the lowest ranks live for hundreds of thousands of years."

"I see," Kate murmured, a bit relieved.

Fei Yu Shan continued, her expression turning more serious. "Little girl, you may not realize this, but your fight with Feng Ying has already become widely known. Almost every pass has received an order: if you or Yang Kai are ever in danger, all missions must stop, and everyone is to save you two no matter the consequences."

Kate's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? I can understand Yang Kai, but why me as well?"

"It's because of your strange powers and your copying abilities," Fei Yu Shan explained.

"I see," Kate said, digesting the information. After a brief pause, she asked, "Then, may I ask Senior to teach me a thing or two?"

"What can I teach you?" Fei Yu Shan asked with a slight smile.

"I'm having trouble improving my combat experience," Kate admitted. "Since I rarely fight anyone, it's hard to grow in that area."

Fei Yu Shan nodded in understanding. "I see. Well, since the battle here just finished, I can recover the World Force I'll lose in a sparring session. So, I suppose I can fight with you a little."

Kate smiled. "Senior is right. I forgot that the stronger someone is, the harder it is for them to recover."

"Exactly. Not everyone is like you two," Fei Yu Shan said with a chuckle as she took a step back, creating distance to prepare for their sparring match.

"Senior, I'm ready," Kate declared confidently.

But before she could fully prepare, Fei Yu Shan was already in front of her, delivering a swift palm strike. Kate barely had time to react, instinctively raising her hand to block. However, Fei Yu Shan's strike connected with Kate's arm, sending her hurtling toward the ground.

"ACKK!" Kate gasped as she crashed, the impact forming a massive crater.

"She dislocated my arm," Kate muttered in panic, quickly realigning it with a grimace. "I'm panicking again!" she scolded herself as she stood up, her resolve hardening. "She's on a completely different level from Sister Feng Ying. The gap between levels in the Open Heaven Realm really is worlds apart."

Fei Yu Shan landed lightly, her expression calm but observant. "Of course," she said. "I heard you performed well against Feng Ying, but this time, you panicked. It seems attacks that trigger your fear are more effective against you."

Suddenly, Fei Yu Shan froze as she felt an overwhelmingly dense killing intent emanating from behind her. Before she could turn to react, Kate struck her with a powerful palm, sending her crashing into the ground.

"How did she get behind me?" Fei Yu Shan thought as she stabilized herself, landing gracefully. Her eyes darted around as she began running, narrowly avoiding a barrage of shimmering weapons fired from the Gate of Babylon.

"I can't just keep running," Fei Yu Shan thought, weaving through the onslaught. Her mind raced as she analyzed the fight. "Where is that little girl? This style of combat is completely different from when she fought Feng Ying. She's changed her approach entirely."

Meanwhile, atop the walls, Yang Kai and Su Yan observed the battle along with a group of others. The intensity of the clash left them watching in silence, their expressions unreadable.

"Is Junior Sister Kate fighting?" Su Yan asked, her tone tinged with curiosity.

"Yes," Yang Kai replied. "Kate is currently fighting against an Eight-Rank Open Heaven Realm master."

Su Yan's eyes widened slightly as she observed the battlefield. "Xue'er can also deploy those golden portals, but only up to seven at a time, and the quality of her weapons is vastly different from what Junior Sister Kate is using."

"Xue'er's given ability is the opening of those golden gates?" Yang Kai asked, surprised.

"Yes," Su Yan confirmed with a nod.

Su Yan then turned her attention back to Yang Kai. "Husband, how are you planning to fight her?"

Yang Kai scratched his face, glancing away awkwardly. "That... I don't know yet."

Su Yan gave him a knowing look. "Does Junior Sister Kate cultivate some kind of illusion technique?"

"I think she does," Yang Kai replied. "And a very strong one at that."

Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of an explosion. The two immediately turned their attention back to the battle, where they saw Kate barely managing to block an attack from Fei Yu Shan.

"You finally came out," Fei Yu Shan remarked, her voice steady but her expression focused.

Kate retaliated with a fierce palm strike, but Fei Yu Shan blocked it effortlessly. Yet, as soon as the block connected, a crack in the void blasted out behind Fei Yu Shan. The disturbance rippled briefly before repairing itself.

Fei Yu Shan's eyes narrowed in realization. "This attack is targeting my Small Universe?" she thought, retreating immediately to reassess her strategy.

"Luckily, I managed to block that attack," Fei Yu Shan thought to herself, observing Kate closely. "But that strike was unrefined... Is she practicing on me?"

Kate's eyes glimmered with focus as her thoughts raced. "Yang Kai's 'Hitting the Bull' technique involves searching for the opponent's Small Universe. It seems I've almost replicated it. I need to refine it further perhaps by launching attacks directly into their Small Universe using the Gate of Babylon."

Suddenly, Fei Yu Shan noticed an opportunity. "A chance!" she thought, surging forward to strike.

Before her attack could land, a pink ethereal hand appeared, stopping her in her tracks.

"Huh?" Fei Yu Shan exclaimed, bewildered, as a sword descended swiftly toward her. She reacted instantly, retreating to safety.

"What was that?" she muttered, her gaze sharpening as she noticed a surge of energy. She recognized the aura and Qi emanating in front of her. "Isn't that Su Yan?"

The realization hit her as Su Yan's Primordial Qi materialized into an attack, streaking toward her with relentless force. Fei Yu Shan deflected each strike with precision.

"A Sixth-Rank Open Heaven Realm cultivator?" she thought, perplexed by the intensity of the strikes. Her focus shifted back to Kate, who calmly made a hand sign.

To Fei Yu Shan's shock, Su Yan's Primordial Spirit suddenly exploded, catching her off guard. The explosion sent a wave of energy surging toward her, leaving her momentarily stunned and injured.

"That attack came all at once," Fei Yu Shan muttered, brushing the dust off herself. "It felt like a Seventh-Rank Open Heaven Realm master had just exploded in front of me." She glanced toward Kate and added, "Wasn't that Su Yan, Yang Kai's wife? What kind of technique was that?"

Kate hovered in the air, her gaze calm but sharp. "A technique given to me by a friend," she replied as she flew closer.

Fei Yu Shan raised a hand, signaling for a pause. "We should stop here."

Kate frowned, clearly taken aback. "What?"

"I'm nearing my limit. It's better if we end this now," Fei Yu Shan said, her tone steady, before turning and flying off into the distance.

Kate watched her go, deep in thought. "It seems my attack on her Small Universe wasn't fully blocked," she mused. "But I was about to try hand-to-hand combat with her..."

Her thoughts were interrupted as Yang Kai and Su Yan landed gracefully in front of her.

"Hand-to-hand combat? Then let me help, Junior Sister," Su Yan offered with a gentle smile.

Kate nodded. "Thank you, Sister Su. That would actually help me a lot."

Yang Kai stepped forward, his expression laced with concern. "Are you sure? Even if her technique doesn't affect you, her physical strength is at the Seventh Rank—comparable to an Eighth Rank if Kate transforms."

Su Yan waved off his worry. "Stop fretting so much. I can handle myself."

Kate smirked, casting a sidelong glance at Yang Kai. "Go sit on the sidelines, weakling," she teased.

Yang Kai's eyes narrowed as he smirked back. "We'll see," he replied before flying off to observe.

Su Yan turned to Kate, her tone softer. "Junior Sister, aren't you being too hard on Husband?"

Kate shrugged nonchalantly. "Let him be. He's grown much stronger since the first time we met. Besides, I'm only reminding him not to slack off."

With a spark of energy in her eyes, Kate smiled. "Let's start!" she said, shooting toward Su Yan with determination.

Kate charged forward with a palm strike, but Su Yan deflected her effortlessly, redirecting Kate's momentum toward the ground. Kate's eyes widened in surprise as she crashed into the dirt. "This is... Buddhist Scripture?" Kate murmured, dusting herself off.

Her gaze narrowed as she analyzed Su Yan's movements. "Using one's force against them this technique is definitely from a Buddhist Scripture. But there's nothing like that here in the Martial Peak Universe..." she thought to herself.

Kate straightened, a smirk forming on her lips. "Playing fists with you, Sister, is pointless. Besides, we both know you study the sword."

With a shimmer, a Gate of Babylon opened beside Kate, and the hilt of Twilight emerged. At the same time, another gate appeared beside Su Yan, producing a similar hilt.

Kate raised an eyebrow. "Looks like Sister managed to discover it."

Su Yan grasped the hilt, her expression calm but determined. "I stumbled upon this by accident while experimenting with the other sisters' given abilities," she admitted. "It made me realize you're not being fair to us."

Kate chuckled lightly. "I gave you the others' abilities because you're the First Wife that's all. Once they have titles, I'll grant them unique abilities too."

As soon as the blade of Twilight emerged from Kate's Gate, Su Yan froze, clutching her neck instinctively. A phantom slash seemed to strike her, beads of sweat forming on her forehead.

"What was that? An illusion?" Su Yan muttered, trying to steady her breathing. "No... it was sword intent. Such an extremely evil intent..."

Kate's eyes glimmered darkly as she raised her blade. "This sword devours the malice and evil from those it has slain. Naturally, its intent is soaked in malevolence."

Before Su Yan could fully recover, Kate vanished.

"BEHIND!" Yang Kai's shout cut through the air.

Su Yan turned in the nick of time, managing to block Kate's strike. Their swords clashed, the impact reverberating through the battlefield.

"Nice block," Kate praised, but followed up with a swift kick, sending Su Yan hurtling into a boulder. The rock shattered under the force, smoke and rubble obscuring the scene.

Kate watched closely, her gaze sharp. "My techniques don't work on her. I need to end this quickly..."

As the dust settled, Su Yan emerged from the debris, her form transformed. Phoenix claws adorned her hands, fiery wings sprouted from her back, and smaller wings fluttered behind her ears.

Kate's eyes widened. "Phoenix Transformation?"

In the blink of an eye, Su Yan closed the distance between them, forcing Kate to raise her weapon just in time to block a powerful attack. The impact sent shockwaves rippling through the air.

"The cultivation gap is still too big," Su Yan thought, frustration flickering in her eyes as she disappeared in a burst of speed.

Kate's head darted around, trying to keep up. "She's fast. Very fast," Kate thought, her expression sharpening as she tried to track Su Yan's movements.

Before the clash could continue, a glowing panel appeared in front of Kate.

"All of your items have expired! You can convert them into a single chance to spin the wheel or transform them into cultivation base," the panel displayed.

Su Yan saw Kate, her eyes narrowing. "A chance..."

Su Yan seized the opening. In a flash, she appeared behind Kate and struck with her phoenix claws, aiming to end the battle decisively.

Her attack connected. To Su Yan's horror, her claws pierced through Kate's back, and in her trembling hand, she held Kate's still-beating heart.

"H-HUH?!" Su Yan stammered, frozen in place as panic began to take over. Her breathing became erratic. "S-SISTER KATE!"

Frantically, she pulled her hand back, but when she looked again, she wasn't holding a heart she was holding a stone.

"Wha-What?" Su Yan murmured, confused and disoriented. Her surroundings blurred momentarily, and she found herself standing on the battlefield, staring at the ground.

When she looked up, Kate stood a short distance away, her gaze fixed on the air in front of her.

"I hope I can get something good this time!" Kate said cheerfully, seemingly oblivious to Su Yan's distress.

The ethereal wheel in front of Kate spun rapidly, its sections marked with various symbols and words. With a loud click, click, click, the wheel slowed down before stopping on a large red section labeled CURSED in ominous, bold letters.

Kate's cheerful expression froze as the air around her grew heavy, the red letters pulsing ominously.

Not giving Kate a chance to react, the ominous red qi surged from the word CURSED and engulfed her completely. A new panel appeared in front of her, glowing with foreboding energy.

"You won't be able to use your full strength. Figure the rest out on your own," Kate read aloud, her voice laced with growing concern. The red qi swirled around her like a storm, consuming her entirely.

Meanwhile, Yang Kai approached Su Yan, his brow furrowed with worry. "What's wrong?" he asked, noticing her distressed expression.

Su Yan wiped a tear from her cheek, her voice trembling. "I… I was caught in her illusion. It felt so real. I thought she was—"

Yang Kai's eyes widened in shock. "She got you under her illusion?!" he exclaimed.

Su Yan nodded, trying to steady her breathing. "Yes. It scared me to my core. I really thought I had..." She trailed off, shaking her head.

The two turned their attention to Kate, only to see her fall to her knees, her hands gripping the ground tightly as if in pain.

"What's wrong?" they shouted in unison, rushing to her side.

Before they could reach her, massive red chains descended from the heavens, their clinking echoes reverberating like thunder. The chains coiled around Kate, their fiery hue burning ominously, and in an instant, a massive red birdcage materialized, trapping her within.

The ground beneath them trembled as the landscape morphed. Hundreds of colossal swords surrounded the birdcage, their sharp tips pointing inward, connected to it by more crimson chains. The eerie glow of the swords and chains bathed the area in an unsettling light.

Yang Kai and Su Yan stood frozen, staring in disbelief as the ominous red cage consumed Kate, its oppressive aura making it hard to breathe.
