Chapter 03

I have dreamed repeatedly of seeing my father while I was asleep because of exhaustion or loss of consciousness. Well, I'm not physically as strong as people, I always end up unconscious when I'm pushing myself.

Then, for today I had a dream that was somehow different from usual. My eyes were droopy to find the figure of a man with a firm face was staring at me there.

Wait, I think I realized something. Stupid, stupid Angel! This isn't a dream, it's the same man that made me lose consciousness for who knows how long. I got up from my sleeping position, wincing a little when I felt my head throb in pain. My back to my ankles feel crushed, my bones must be trying to find the right position right now.

"Eat, at least don't forget breakfast if you're late. You should already know the punishment you'll get for chasing time." The man held out a box of food and a bottle of drink in front of me, I, who was still confused by what had just happened, could only stare at the box alternately with Alaska.

Knowing there was no movement from me, the handsome man with a grim face dropped the box and bottle of drinks beside the empty bed.

"Now it's up to you, I know if possible you want to report this incident." I saw him reaching for his alma mater which he had placed on the chair.

This man talks a lot but the words that come out of his mouth are always annoying, tch! Just tell me if you're scared I'll report it!

"Stop looking at me like that and eat that food," I gasped, looking down to hide my flushed face from being caught staring at him earlier.

“S-senior, who brought me—”

"Me," his words cut off my unfinished question.

I gulped my saliva, that means he lifted me up to the infirmary? Are you serious? Impossible. Then, I noticed him staring at the watch wrapped around his wrist.

"One hour I will not consider wasted, just consider it as a form of my responsibility." Wow, dammit, is he trying to strengthen his defenses or what?

One of the most annoying things today, I want to curse him, I want to grab his hair and ruffle that handsome face. Too bad, I don't have the courage to do it more than swearing harshly, ah he's too handsome.

"There are no exceptions for tomorrow's assignment, do it like everyone else." Before I had time to ask what assignment he meant, the man had already left and took his long legs to leave me.

Are you serious? I see he has no guilt at all, tsk! Irritating!

"H-hi, how are you?" My eyes turned to a girl who had just entered this room after the cold man left.

"I—I've improved a bit, come here." Shut up, I'm trying to be friendly. I think that girl is trying to befriend me.

Her clumsy smile spread, I did the same, this was really awkward for us. However, everything was like that when we met for the first time, right?

"I saw you being brought by Alaskan seniors here, I was really surprised when you wobbled in the middle of the field. Are you—seriously okay now?"

If I can judge, it seems that the girl is quite considerate, her way of speaking is also polite. Again, her small face with shoulder-length hair seemed to make her look a little adorable.

"Ah, thanks for your kind gesture, but really now I feel better." My awkward smile turned into a warm sincere smile, I saw she was also doing the same thing.

"By the way, what's your name?"

"I'm Chelsy Naomi, you're Angelica Xhyra, right?" I frowned even after nodding.

"How did you find out?" She chuckled showing her straight teeth.

"I think all the freshmen majoring in literature already know that. You must have forgotten that you were screaming because you were punished this morning." I nodded awkwardly again, rubbing the back of my neck that didn't itch.

"Next time don't forget to set an alarm, okay? Our seniors look pretty scary." She giggled amused after saying that, I agreed with her words. But, I think she also understands how handsome the guy is.

"May I know your age?" She nodded again after I asked.

"I'm twenty, how about you?" I thought she and I were the same age or I was older than her, in fact I was younger than her.

"I'm nineteen, well you should be my senior."

"I was late for elementary school because I was sick at the time." I nodded in understanding again, the rest we didn't make any sound other than the breeze from outside that entered through the glass windows and open doors.

Welcome back awkward atmosphere.

"That, you don't want to eat your food?" Ah, right, I almost forgot the food that senior gave me.

"You must not have eaten lunch, I'll just feed it, okay?" Before I could answer, the girl had already grabbed the lunch box and fed it in front of my mouth.

I was stunned, is he really that good? Back when I was in high school, I didn't get friends who gave that kind of attention. They made fun of them more than they were nice, especially when my father had just passed away.

"You're so kind," the small mumble I let out made she's smile a little, I was touched by her treatment. Hey, I'm a foreigner, why do you treat me like an important human being that you should pay attention to? Really, I have a hard time trusting people.

I don't think I've ever had a friend I could call a friend, a real friend. Everyone only knew me as a location buddy, nothing more, I thought so too.

I took her mouthful, I chewed and tried to keep my clear beads from falling through my eyelids. Ah, damn it, I failed because I remember my father who always feeds me like that, I miss my father.

"Hey, are you crying?" She hastily put down the box of food, came closer to me and tried to grab my face which I bowed down. Chelsy did not give up, she then grabbed my shoulder and hugged me warmly, not forgetting the soft caress I received due to her slender fingers.

"Thank you," I said, thanks for everything today.

The two of them probably didn't realize that a man who had been sitting there waiting for Angel for an hour was about to come back in. However, he stopped his steps when he found a quite touching moment, he glanced at Angel's bag in his hand, he let out a sigh before turning his body and away from there. He, Alaska Adelson.
