Tensions were thick but waning. It had been roughly an hour or so since crossing through the seemingly endless stretch of stone wall and an uneventful hour at that. We encountered our fair share of weaker mana beast ; altered boars mostly with the exception of these burrowing snakes that nearly cost us our horses. They had stone like scales but Reignar cut through it like butter all the same. Truthfully speaking, I've barely had to move a muscle in terms of combat since we entered. 

At this point Reigner and I were walking side by side with reins in hand and our pack horses facing outwards. Wehad agreed after that it would be best to conserve the horses energy and aim for distance on our first day for a few reasons.
