With haste Reigner and I mounted our horses. The simultaneous crack of reins echoed as we shot back down and towards the direction we came. Though that was a task easier said than done.
Due to the incline and shifting ground the horses repeatedly stumbled. I made sure to cast foot of the feather on them both but it won't really do us much good until we get onto solid ground. As we retreated a slurry of snakes began to launch at us from below.
They measured around 6 feet or so in length and a foot in diameter. Their dark gray bodies looked jagged and rock-like and though they didn't seem to have any type of special offensive ability, their large size and raw power meant that a bite from them was a nearly guaranteed death sentence.
