Anna stood among the crowd, and as soon as the King descended, their eyes met. Without hesitation, she draped her shawl over his head, leaving only her eyes exposed.

Drey pushed his way through the throng, flanked by Alex and Sydney, who covered the sides to prevent the woman from escaping.

The King's gaze followed the fleeing figure, but when he arrived at the spot where he had last seen her, the woman had shed her disguise and was no longer recognizable as Anna.

With a defeated shake of his head, the knight retreated to the front of the market, where they had first spotted Anna in the distinctive dress she was wearing.

"I'll go after her," offered Alex. Drey didn't object, and Alex threaded his way back through the now-open shops and stalls.
