Chapter7

#Chapter7

Clyde didn't mock him the way he felt Eric would have done. Instead, he slung an arm around his shoulder, muttered out a few comforting words, and chose distraction as his choice of weapon. He steered them down the extended strip of hall, pointing at doors and naming them. When they came to the stairwell, he pointed downwards. It was the way Eric had brought him. They'd entered through a main foyer, and the stairs were the first feature.

The kitchen, billiard room, lounge and a few other things he lost track of were supposed to be down there. Then he pointed at the spiral that led up the grand staircase up to the third level.

/"It's mostly bedrooms up here,/" Clyde explained when they reached the top. Aiden stumbled after him, wheezing from the sheer volume of stairs, legs burning. /"When we have pack meetings, we'll have a few stay over if it runs late and they'll sleep up here, but most of the time, Link has the floor to himself./"
