/"Do you really need that?/" Joel asked, his eyes dropping down to the cart where I had just placed a ceramic mug.

/"It's shaped like a doughnut, Joel,/" I said, somewhat excitedly. /"I wanna drink outta a doughnut so I definitely need it./"

Joel sighed and nodded. I think he had already regretted his decision to take me shopping. He had given up arguing with me and now, for the most part, he was just sighing, rolling his eyes or nodding.

The store wasn't particularly busy; a steady flow of costumers weaved in and out of the aisles. Soft music played in the background, which I squeaked along to with my shoes, which were still slightly wet from the rain, and the lights were so bright, making everything seem so inviting and magical.
