#Chapter47
JAMESON
Present day
/"I didn’t think you were the kind to listen at keyholes, Vegas./"
She leaned into me and I held her close, not wanting to let go. It had been two years since we stood flush like this, and the feel of her body against mine had me instantly hard. That hadn’t happened with Shelia since a month after we married.
/"Jae,/" she whispered in her melodious voice. She slid her palms down the back of my hands and held them. We stayed like that for a moment before she turned to look at me with wary eyes. /"Jae, I need to tell you something./"
She could tell me anything as long as it wasn’t /"goodbye./"
/"What is it, Vegas?/" I tightened my grip. /"No need to look so scared./" I was sure she wanted to talk about her fiancé. She didn’t need to worry. I knew everything Adam and Josh’s investigation firm could find.
