Why am I so unlucky

Getting up early in the morning, Timeless had no time to rest as he made his way out of camp. He wasn't skilled nor a genius and had no high-level martial skills (he was too poor to learn such). The one's the military taught in the sanctuary were just the basics, so he only had himself to rely on.

Still, his will could never be broken. He felt his blood rush when he saw some of those geniuses being led by guards to hunt. Although these guards won't step in unless they are in danger, it sure is reassuring knowing they are safe from danger. Other than that, it was also just a way of showing off one's status.

Timeless didn't have anyone to rely on, so he can only get strong on his own. At least there have been some treasures discovered in God's domain, including some martial skills. If he's lucky, he might get his hands on one—but knowing his luck, he's bound to never get one.

He looked once more at the guards and geniuses before moving along to hunt. Looking at his terrains, he knew where to go and where not to go because during these 300 years, humans have laid a detailed map of the whole first layer—or so they said.

One can never trust the world of humans. His hunt today was a Skyflow Wolf known to be exceptionally fast and with a strong defense, so he was hoping to get some stat points today. Some people go hunting in groups, but he's always been a loner and prefers it that way; he's still low-level with no martial skills, so no one will take him if he tried, and he's not willing to bow his head and beg, either.

Determined to succeed, Timeless pushed aside any distracting thoughts and set his mind on his hunt as he entered the Zither Forest. Navigating his way through the dense undergrowth, he made his way towards the Skyflow Wolf's cave, keeping an eye out for any signs of the pack.

As he approached the cave, he carefully peered through the bushes and caught sight of his target. To his surprise, a lone wolf was out in the open, away from the protection of the pack. Timeless cautiously surveyed the area for any signs of danger, knowing that these beasts were notoriously cunning and could easily outsmart an unwary hunter.

After examining his surroundings and being sure this wasn't a trick of some sort, he held onto his dagger. While looking at it, it seemed like seems it was going to break any moment, and he might need to get a new one soon. He's been saving up and needed to hunt a few more beasts to get an elite-stage weapon.

Mortal stage weapons do not have the capacity of self-healing because there is nothing unique about them. Looking at the beast that was is quite big and different from the rest of the Skyflow Wolves. Comparatively, the one in front of him was white, while the others were brown in color. He was wondering why there was a difference, but he soon put that thought behind him as he steeled his heart for battle while brandishing his dagger, ready to attack at any moment.

Timeless was hiding in the brush, lying in wait and hoping for the slightest show of a weak point. The Skyflow Wolf's hairs are as sharp as iron so the only weak point should be underneath its body or its eyes (as is usually the case for most creatures).

He tried testing the waters and picked a rock nearby and aimed at the Skyflow Wolf. Upon sensing something coming its way, it moved out of the way as fast as the wind.

This startled Timeless as he muttered to himself, "Sure enough, they don't have the name Skyflow for nothing."

After dodging the projectile, the Skyflow Wolf looked at his surroundings with vigilance, hoping to find the source of his worry. If it was a small fish, it's surely biting the living daylight out of it, but If it's something dangerous, then it might as well make a run for it.

Timeless was hiding in the bushes, looking at the vigilant Skyflow Wolf and knew it was time to act. These beasts, although somewhat intelligent, still can't escape from their nature as beasts. He stepped out of the bush holding his dagger, and as soon as the Skyflow Wolf saw that it was a small fry, it immediately dashed towards its prey. But Timeless didn't have any plans to die today; he was sure to survive as he knew the terrain well. He was hoping to use that to kill the Skyflow Wolf, so he made a mad sprint towards the woods, moving in a zig-zag motion because running in a straight line was suicide.

While running, he saw a fallen tree up ahead with a little space to make something happen. He ran straight for it while slowing his speed so as to enable the beast to catch up; the beast, seeing that it almost caught its prey, it became excited and made a leap towards him, expecting to catch him in the air.

Timeless smiled seeing this as he slid under the fallen tree and raised his dagger. Upon seeing this, the Skyflow Wolf felt a sense of danger, but it was already too late. It was already in the air and couldn't stop; it could only hope that the injuries weren't severe. Its hope was soon dashed as the beast could only go into eternal sleep as the blade connected with his lower body, spilling outs its guts—much to Timeless's disgust.

This victory though, came at a cost as his dagger broke after that. He could only smile bitterly at this as he shook his head and then looked at his profile to distract himself.
