Azure Exuberance

Felicity pulled back from the thought knowing that if they trekked any further, they would be left astray as them defining the phenomenon wasn't their job. It was an interesting thought since it would also align with the very questions that would collide with what humans have always known.

Time travel which was only in novels and movies may perhaps be attainable in the sense that they might have touch in a new world. Flicking her eyes up above to where the engyure used to be, she truly wondered if that was its separate world that was undiscovered until now.

Once again, Felicity knew that if they stuck too long on this topic they would never be able to finish the real task that they have on hand. Those thoughts were of course frightening and left Felicity with a bad aftertaste, but it wasn't something that she could personally change.

She was one who needed to get answers to know how everything pieced together, but realistically, this was out of her range, and something that she would rather not touch. She would do what she could with the abilities that she had at the moment.

The idea of warping time and such would often bring the complexities of other theories such as multiverses and wormholes, so she put a stop to that train immediately as they were still in hot waters. Literally.

She kept on switching from floating to treading water since she found that it was more comfortable to tread due to being able to see her surroundings rather than float with her senses going haywire.

Breathing in slowly, Felicity tried to pace her breaths that rose and fell at a normal speed since she didn't want to elevate her heart rate and her active mind. She didn't have the indulgence to become tired later despite already feeling the fatigue in her body that was creeping up on her due to the constant abrupt flight or fight response.

Felicity kept herself in high spirits, thinking of what she wanted to do when she got home the number one thing getting into her bed that would greet her whenever she toppled over in the mess of blankets. She needed to muster enough energy to keep herself in a good headspace.

Letting her body become lighter, she floated onto the top of the waters with the sounds of the waves becoming dull noises as she closed her eyes to keep her heart rate down after taking a few deep breaths.

Moments of water splashing on her face made her sputter, but she had to conserve more energy by floating rather than treading water. That way, both she and Medina can last out longer in the ocean and reserve their strengths for other matters that may come their way.

Felicity didn't know how long both she and Medina were out in the waters staring up into the darkening sky despite the sun slowly coming up to signify the start of a new day, but the silence that had fallen over them was a definite factor that told how everything was going for them which wasn't really going anywhere.

She did have full faith that the helicopter had the ability to come and find them with whatever system Medina had in mind with the weird flare and whatnot, but Felicity was starting to think that since the helicopter was taking so long, they may have run into some kind of trouble.

Medina stressed the fact that if she got into any trouble she would contact the helicopter for backup, but Felicity didn't hear anything about the helicopter having their own second plan in case a situation wasn't rolling to be ideal. She knew that it could definitely be the case without the unpredictable nature of the engyures.

Medina eventually grabbed another arrow, and Felicity watched from the corner of her eye as Medina shot the flare up into the air with the corner bursting into color as it had with the first one that came before it. The twinkling azure shade would linger, shimmering with much exuberance.

They waited for a while long after setting off the flare again, and Felicity went back to her floating position knowing that the helicopter had to eventually get to them. They had to. There was no way they weren't on their way.

Felicity flipped back to treading water and was about to voice something over to Medina when she realized that there truly was nothing to say except a prayer of hope. Now, they truly had to master the waiting game.

There was no need to rejoice when they both heard the flickering of the helicopter blades from quite a distance. Felicity's eyes widened while Medina cast a skeptical look into the sky wondering if the helicopter was their own.

When Felicity recognized the exterior of their helicopter, she finally let a smile break onto her face, glad to see that the helicopter pulled through on the rescue mission after they had waited it out.

However, it wasn't just the one helicopter that was slowly nearing them. The deafening buzzing that approached was not capable of only one mere helicopter. There were two others that were coming as well.

The wave of helicopters which was technically only a pack of three, was getting closer almost reaching their point, and the buzzing overhead suddenly got extremely clamorous with Felicity having to cover her ears from the noise ricocheting in her brain.

Felicity glanced over at Medina who had a controlled reaction giving the subtlest of nods to exhibit that Medina wasn't worried in the slightest. But Medina turned her eyes above again carefully which made Felicity do the same.

Felicity could bearly feel her fingers and toes at that point, but it was very soon when they would be out. She waited for the next turn of events from the helicopters, content to have a way out of the water that had been their prison for at least an hour or two.
