The rest of the crew was at the base of the colossal raure, and Felicity yelled for them to get away. But they were all doing their best to somehow deal damage to the raure. It was their job after all. The sharpness returned in Melissa's eyes as she stabbed the raure with her affinity weapon.
She and Leo had them backing them up. Felicity raised her eyes to meet with Leo's, and she gave him a subtle nod. They could do anything. If Leo said that she could fly, Felicity wouldn't even doubt him. Anything was possible at this time.
Felicity didn't even give Leo a warning when she let go of her harsh grip on the side of the raure with all of her daggers an all. The daggers dropped down into the ocean with the soldiers dodging them and collecting them since they could be of use.
She was once again freefalling, and Felicity knew that she was going to have to get used to this sensation. She was learning to fly after all. Leo yelled out her name in terror. Felicity fell into their arms, and all of a sudden they were both falling closer to the water.
Felicity buried her head under his chin and let herself huddle into him. His hand ran a hand down her hair, and she looked up at him as she clasped the hilt of their blade together. The power pulsed between their hands, and the sudden surge reached into the depths of her soul.
Their eyes lit up the moment they touched like twin flames, and the curve of her lips matched him. They didn't need to exchange any words to know what was going to happen. It was in moments like these that she knew that he was ingrained in the deepest parts of her even if she denied it.
Like a dance, he lifted her into the air connected by the rope, she went higher into the sky as she twisted, yanking up the rope with her. Somehow she was able to be taken higher up into the sky, grappling in the air where she was defying all laws of gravity.
Holding tightly onto their rope, Leo followed her up into the sky. Felicity steeled her nerves knowing it was much too late to second-guess anything.
Leo had let go of their combined blades, now in her hands, burning away, and she gritted her teeth as she reached the peak of her airborne travels and started her descent down. With a loud cry and whipping her face furiously, she drove their blade down despite her vision starting to black with dots.
Their blade crushed the head of the raure, piercing through. As Felicity landed on the raure's head to send another slash into the raure, the colossal raure hissed and shook as more raures from underneath the water merged into the large specimen.
Leo landed behind her, on his feet, which she wasn't so lucky to have, and they both looked into the horizon as their hands met together to drive their sword into the head once more, feeling the mush of the skin harden as they broke through the skin.
Holding onto each other tightly, the colossal raure roared out, lifting itself up and out of the water in a vertical stance. The smaller raures were able to move around quickly, but due to the major raure's large size, it wasn't able to deflect her and Leo's attacks.
The tail of the colossal raure suddenly stiffed, and Felicity turned around with her eyes widening in shock as the spike was lifted and aimed right at their faces. The gunshots and other damage that the group was dealing with below were heard, and Medina screamed, "DUCK!"
Leo forced Felicity's head down, but she tackled him in response. The spike had a good view of them, so their chances of dodging were going to do much. Felicity was straddling Leo's waist, and she glanced back furiously.
He rolled them over so that they were facing the spike that was about to launch at them. There was a second where she jerked her chin down, and she caught the white shine of Leo's smile. She shook her head as the curve of her lips settled. He was insane.
The sharp grey spikes that didn't seem to be metal but were still extremely sharp were sprung on them with vicious force. Widening her stance, they leveled their blade, but the speed of the spike was fast. Their blade was faster.
She and Leo caught the spike in the nick of time before it completely obliterated them, the size of the spike from the colossal raure enough to crush a whole building, by slicing the spike in half, splitting it down the middle so that the parts flew to the side of them.
