She tried to pull herself from his tight grip, but he pushed her back down and placed his body above hers in an intimate way that both awakened her sexually and frightened her beyond words.
"I asked you a question," he said, his face a slight distance away from her face, and she could hear the rapid beating of her heart.
"I don't know who you are either," she muttered with a shaky voice.
"Liar!" He said as he rolled her over on the bed. She was now resting on her stomach and his body pressed on her back to ensure that she would remain in the same position.
"You know who I am and don't think of lying," he spat harshly, and Rachael could only bite her tongue in fear.
"What do you want from me?" She asked.
"I should be asking you," he retorted immediately.
Rachael knew the voice quite well, and that was the main reason she wanted to run from him. What was he doing here? And what did he want from her now?
She was so scared to the core, and feeling his warm body against hers only made her more scared. She grabbed the sheets subconsciously.
"I don't want anything from you," she said in a rush.
"But I want something from you," he whispered. His breath fanned her ear.
"Wh-what?" She stuttered, and he rolled her back, this time his eyes scrutinized as he tried to make a clear view of her face.
"I want to know what you're doing here," he replied.
Rachael trembled but struggled to hide it desperately, but nothing was working.
He felt her breath on his face as she breathed heavily through her mouth. He unknowingly leaned down as his eyes looked at her sharply.
Rachael felt his breath on her lips, and they quivered in anticipation. She subconsciously shut her eyes closed as she waited for his warm lips against hers.
Instead, she felt a bright light after a flick of something. She opened an eye but quickly shut it back when the bright light almost temporarily blinded her.
Did he turn on the light in the room? She asked innerly before popping her eyes open to be certain. She opened her eyes only to see him looking at her with a look she couldn't decipher.
However, she was also lost in his silver eyes that emanated the coldness behind them, and that feeling made her even more scared.
Why was he looking at her like he wanted to read her soul? She wondered.
Who was this man, and why was he there? But that was clearly a dumb question, judging by his appearance.
"What are you doing here?" She still asked, even when she knew the answer to that.
"What do you think?" He started, and she could see the mischievousness in his cold silver eyes.
"Maybe if you tell me and get it right, I might let you go," he said, trying to make a deal.
"What if I don't?" She wanted to know what she was dealing with because what he said sounded promising to her.
"I would do as I please," he said, and she saw a glint flashed in his eyes.
"It's a deal then," she said with her heart pounding faster.
"It's obvious that this is your room," she said with a proud look as she tried to read his expression, but he gave nothing away.
"Well… You're wrong," he said as his eyes moved to look at her lips. "I guess it's time for me to do as I please."
"No!" She yelled as she tried pushing him away from her. This wasn't his room, then whose was it?.
"What do you want from me?" She asked with a worried look.
"How about we start with this," he leaned down even more, now his lips a breath away from hers.
Rachael's throbbing heart and the tension made her feel like she was about to vomit but she held it back. She badly hated herself for even anticipating a kiss with her father's murderer. She tried to pull away from him, but he still kept leaning down. In a panic, she started pushing against him to get a chance to run away from him, but he held her down with his body.
His lips were just so close and Rachael had to shut her eyes tight. Her fear almost made it hard for her to breathe and just when she wanted to throw up, a phone rang, disrupting the moment.
Everything went still and the only sound that could be heard was that of the phone that refused to stop. In anger, Derek moved away from her and picked the phone vibrating on the table beside the bed.
Derek's face turned red as he looked at the name of the caller. He hissed in annoyance before taking the call.
"What do you want?" He asked after the caller said hello twice.
"I wanted to remind you about-" he heard his brother, bringing back a discussion he badly wanted to avoid.
"If it's about the event, then forget it." He retorted, interrupting his brother.
The thing he heard next pissed him off. His mother was coming, and so what? He couldn't care less, not like he even cared about what she does.
And he was sure that his brother must've realized his mistake, but it was already too late.
"Would dad be there as well?" He asked in anger.
He heard nothing but silence afterward. His brother must be regretting his choice of words.
Rachael, who was quietly hearing and, watching him in his angry state, could only wince whenever he spoke harshly, and she really pitied whoever it was on the other side of the phone.
Her eyes darted around the room as she looked for a way out of this hellhole she was in. Her eyes went straight to the door, and she made a move for it.
Derek, who was still burning in rage, was stunned to see Rachael trying to sneak her way to the door. In a fit of anger, he grabbed her hand and yanked her harshly back on the bed, and earned a hiss from her.
"What was that?" Daniel asked, but Derek was already enraged to even care about him.
His eyes bored into Rachael, who tried pulling her hand back with a groan.
"Let go," she said with a hiss. Derek ended the call and tugged her to a standing position against his body.
Rachael gasped with the sudden pull, but her breath got stuck in her throat when she felt the gaze move back to her lips. Why was he always moving his gaze to her lips?.
She swallowed the lump in her throat and opened her mouth to speak.
"What do you-" and before she could finish her words, his lips slammed against hers.
Rachael's eyes were wide open in shock. She looked at the man with wide eyes, her heart beating in her ears. His eyes were closed as he deepened the kiss, and Rachael unknowingly closed her eyes after staring at his handsome face for a while.
Her thoughts of thinking rationally were gone within seconds.
