He pushed her down on the bed behind her as he kissed her deeply. Rachael tried pushing his chest in an attempt to flee from him and get as far away from him as possible.
She saw closely that there was no way for her to leave. She finally came to a conclusion and without thinking too much about it, she raised her knee and kneeled him on his groin.
Derek's body became rigid as he groaned in pain. She took the opportunity to push him on the chest and ran straight to the door. She yanked it open and rushed out. She felt so scared. She found herself walking straight to her room and she quickly slammed the door shut behind her, her heart beating faster while adrenaline flowed in her veins. She could still remember the test of him and how warm his body was against hers.
She shook her head and placed a trembling hand against her chest as she tried taking control of her lacking breath. She could barely understand what always happened to her whenever she was with him.
It was like he was a drug that she badly wanted to avoid but kept getting closer to it unknowingly until she was finally addicted to it. But she'll never get addicted to him, he was a heartless beast who knew nothing but to derive joy from her pain.
---
Derek's face was still twitched in pain, and it was clearly written on his face. He felt the pain in his groin that hurt so much. Gosh! He just took a shower barely 30 minutes ago, and now he was going to take another because of that girl. Well, he was somehow glad that any excitement he had a few minutes back was gone.
He puffed an air when he could finally control the pain as it became bearable. He sat on the bed while he thought of a perfect way to get back at her.
A knock came, disrupting his thoughts. A frown settled on his face.
"Yes?" He called angrily.
"Boss, Peter is here to see you," the person replied.
He groaned, feeling exhausted already. Why can't he just rest without disturbance? He stood up and looked down at his crotch. At least it wasn't as painful as it was last time, and there was totally no use for the cold shower.
He quickly dressed up and walked to the living room where he saw his assistant looking worried for some unknown reasons.
"Peter?" He called to make his presence known. Peter quickly stood up.
"Boss," he bowed.
"What happened? You look like you've seen a ghost," he pointed out.
"I guess so boss, you can say I saw a ghost, but I actually saw something else," he started.
"Which is?" He said, sitting down opposite Peter.
"There's a war going on in the underworld. The two lords of the underworld, which are Al Capone and John gotti. They are currently at each other's necks. Now, something has been happening lately too," he continued. "We logged into our system, and it appeared that someone was attempting to hack into our data. Whosoever it it was quite competitive because he gave Eddy a hard time."
"Who do you think it is?"
"I think it's Mike."
"Mike? Why would you think so? I mean, we are making a business deal with him, and we just bought the dice from him recently.
"More reason to be alert. He might have sold it to us, but you know Mike is known for his sneaky and crafty habits. That's the scariest thing about him. He must've sold the paradise to us without any complications or problems, but we both know that that isn't the case. He still wants us to lose while he keeps everything to himself, that's what he is known for, and that's precisely how he keeps getting richer every day."
"You made your point. For a brief moment, I actually forgot that he was a fraud."
"Boss never forget that everyone in the underworld has their way of business and that's what made them who they are. Mike is a fraud, and he has stolen from countless people and only a few managed to escape."
"Then why is he trying so hard this time, besides that, it isn't our first time doing business."
"That's his strategy, boss, he wants you to actually believe that you're an exception just to catch you off guard." Peter explained while Derek listened carefully.
"So how's the team holding up?"
"We are wondering whose side you would pick."
"Pick?"
"The war going on… Whose side are you on?"
Derek chuckled darkly, he almost forgot that everything was a game to get more glory in the underworld. Whenever there's a drag for power between two strong parties, others must pick a side that they believe would win. It was just like betting, but in this case, whoever loses would be hunted down and killed, while whoever wins would join alliances with the person they supported, bringing more power to their hands.
He remembered how he got to this stage where people feared him. He was like the second to the king of the underworld, no one had seen his face except Mike and his best friend.
Now, he wondered if he should really pick a side. But for him to stay in power, he had to do many things that even God and the law condemned. However, power is power and losing would mean losing everything. Almost everyone was against him, including the king of the underworld, because he knew once he relaxed, Derek would overthrow him and become the next underworld king.
But he was quite fortunate that the king hadn't taken him seriously, since he wanted to lie low for now. The best way to deceive everyone, and that was probably why Mike thought otherwise.
Maybe he should really pick a side, but then he would be playing a mind game because of any slight mistake, and he was done for. He had to pick who was strong enough to win first.
"Fine. I'll pick a side," it was high time he started gaining more to be the next king of the underworld.
"Good. Now, the second news of the day, and it's about family," Peter said, grinning.
Derek frowned at him. "Family issues?"
"Yeah, I'm sure you don't know, but congratulations! You've finally gotten a sister-in-law in the family, and your mother would be just proud once she knows of her background." Peter said sarcastically.
Derek could only imagine what it would be like, judging by Peter's words and expression.
"What? Daniel is married?" He said, in shock.
