22. Gone Wrong

I woke up feeling intense headache, I couldn't remember anything from last night. I walked towards my first aid kit and I took a pain killer, the pain subsided. I walked towards the mirror and I found out I was still in the dress I wore to the club, so how did I get home? I asked myself, I looked closely at my neck and I saw a hickey.

"Oh my God". I shouted

Hope I didn't commit fornication, I thought . I knelt down

"God please forgive me, I promised to have sex only after marriage...".

Wait a minute...if I had sex last night then I am supposed to be sore, I thought

"Phew" I said and I breathed a sigh of relief

But how did I get home last night and how did I get this hickey? I thought

I racked my brain then I decided to stop over thinking. I went to bathe and I got dressed for work, I had to visit Maya today and also to discuss her treatments and how the surgery will go about.

I walked down stairs and I saw Stefan and Ricardo already waiting for me.

"Good morning Ma'm Rhian". They greeted simultaneously

"Good morning".

I had breakfast and also told them to eat as well. I entered my new Rolls Royce phantom and Ricardo sped away to the company.

I arrived at the company and everyone greeted me, I was glad I wore a turtle neck so that the hickey will not be visible. I entered my private elevator and I got to the top floor, I entered my office and I was ready for the schedule for today.

I heard a knock on the door and I looked through my transparent office and I saw Franco.

"Come in".

He walked in and we discussed some things, after the discussion I was prompt to ask him about last night

"Franco, I remember that we all went to the business party last night but did we go any where else after that".

"No Ma'm, is there a problem".

"No".

Franco stared at Rhian, he couldn't tell her that she was drunk at the club and that they almost had sex unless she would freak out and she might do worse to him. He was happy to see her in that state last night, she was care free and she wasn't cold towards anyone.

"Ma'm can I follow you to the hospital to meet your sister today".

"Why must you follow me, is there any business matters you want to attend to there".

"Yes Ma'm, I want to take reports from the hospital and also to know the upgraded facilities it needs".

"Alright".

"Besides are we not friends". Franco asked

"No". I replied sternly

Franco held his heart and he demonstrated a funny drama he watched on TV

I felt like laughing but I didn't want to show any room for weakness. Franco always brightens up my day with his funny attitudes and the way he speaks nicely to me but I didn't want to disclose such thoughts to him.

"Not funny Franco, we are late to the meeting in Zambales"

"You are so boring Ma'm Rhian".

After this meeting in Zambales, I would finally go and visit Maya in the hospital. As we were driving, my car broke down and I couldn't send for another car because of the traffic jam . I asked Stefan to call for my helicopter because it will be faster. The helicopter arrived and it was on top of an uncompleted building that has been abandoned .

"Hello boss, everything is set".

"Ok, let the fun begin". Uncle Armando laughed and he watched Rhian from a tinted car

Franco walked behind Rhian towards the abandoned building and she was about to walk under a large crane machine. I looked towards the left side and I saw a man in a mask and he was using a screw driver to unscrew the crane handle. I realized that if the man continues to unscrew it, the crane handle will fall on Rhian.

I ran towards Rhian and I pulled her towards myself and we jumped out of the reach of the crane handle and we heard a loud bang because of the impact of the crane handle when it hit the ground.

Rhian was on top of me and we stared into each other's eyes, I admired her long black hair and her ebony eyes. I held her waist tightly and she held my shirt tightly, she was so scared.

Rhian stared at Franco and she was in awe of how he saved her life. She stared at his deep blue eyes and jet black hair, her heart found him sincere but her mind was denying the fact. I realized the compromising position we were in and I stood up.

"Sorry po". I said in filipino language

"Salamat for saving me Franco". I said and I walked towards my helicopter because I was late for the meeting already

Franco stood there, he couldn't believe she said thank you. He smiled inwardly and he ran towards the helicopter

On the helicopter ride, I wondered who would want have me killed and I decided to ask Franco

"Franco did you see anybody in that area before the crane fell".

"Yes, I saw a man in a mask unscrewing the crane handle".

"Alright".

I need to be very careful and I also need to find out who's out to kill me.

After the meeting, I immediately went to the hospital to see Maya

I walked into her room and I saw her looking very pale and her eyes were closed. I started crying immediately I saw her

I walked towards her bed and I hugged her, I cried and cried

"Rhian stop crying".

I looked up to see Maya conscious again and I was so happy. I called the doctor and he came to examine her.

"Maya I'm so sorry for everything".

"Shhhh stop apologizing, I'm the one that left you when you needed me the most. I'm so sorry Rhian".

We hugged and we discussed about anything and I told her everything that happened in my past and we laughed and bonded once again.

Then I heard a knock on the door

"Come in"

Franco walked in with a bouquet of flowers and a get-well-soon card.

He placed it close to Maya

"Who's this Rhian? ".

"This is....". I was interrupted by Franco

"I am Franco milady". Then he kissed the back of Maya's palms

Maya giggled

"Hi Franco, I'm Maya, Rhian's twin sister"

"Nice to meet you, you are much nicer than Rhian. Rhian growls like a monster".

Maya giggled again

"Stop it you fool. Get out from here". I said coldly

"No Rhian, don't yell at him. He seems nice but you are mean to him"

"Whatever". I stood up and I walked away with anger suddenly I tripped on something and as I was about to fall, I felt a strong pair of hands holding me on my waist. I looked up to see Franco, he was always there to save me. I stared at him and I could only see sincerity but I realized what's going on and I pushed him away from me.

My phone rang and I went outside to answer it

"Hey". Franco said and he looked at her

"Why is she so cold Maya". Franco asked

"It's because of what Uncle Armando and Noah did to her in the past".

"Ooh, I think I've met that Noah, he was there at the business party. After she saw him, she was so angry that she went to a club". Franco said

"She went to a club!". Maya shouted and Rhian turned to look at us from the window and we smiled at her so that she wouldn't suspect.

"Yes she did". Franco whispered softly

"Wait a minute....did you guys sleep together? "

"No...we didn't, we just had a little moment together because she was intoxicated and I had a little alcohol in my system".

"Oh my..... that means you love her and she loves you too but you guys are too cowardly to confess it to each other".

"Maya, I don't know if she loves me but I love her with all my heart and I will protect her from her past and we will create a new present and also a new future together".

"Oh that's so romantic". Maya hugged Franco

Ethan walked into the room and cleared his throat, Maya pulled away from Franco and they both stared at him

"Ethan....I've missed you".

"Hello dear". Ethan hugged Maya

"It seems as if you have replaced me". Ethan Said and he stared at Franco

"Not a chance..... this is Franco Segismundo and he loves Rhian but she's too attached to her past to accept his love and also to see the truth".

"Hey Franco, goodluck getting Rhian. She's a hard stone to crack". Ethan Said

Everyone giggled

"Nice to meet you Ethan, I will give you guys some privacy".

"Bye".

Rhian ended her call

"I don't think you should go into Maya's room becau...".

Rhian ignored Franco and she entered the room

"Oh my God". Rhian said and she closed the door immediately covering her eyes too

"I told you they were making out but you refused to listen". Franco said

"Whatever". I replied

The surgery date was fixed and I got the best surgeons to do the surgery no matter the cost.

On the day of the surgery

I came early in the morning together with Ethan, Yna, Tori and Ji-yoo. Franco also came and we waited eagerly for the surgery to be concluded.

The doctor came out and we all rushed to meet him

"Doctor Gonzales, how is my sister?". I asked

"The surgery is concluded and your sister is out of danger".

"Thank you Jesus". I replied and I knelt down and said a little prayer.

"You can go in and see her". The doctor replied

I was so happy that I hugged Ethan, Yna, Ji-yoo, Tori....I didn't realize that I also hugged Franco when I realized I pulled away from him and I went in to see my sister.

Maya was safe and everybody was so happy. Ma'm Corazon and Mr Marcial Da'Leon also came and I was so happy they considered I and Maya their daughters.

"You may seem happy now....but your victory is short-lived". Uncle Armando laughed and he watched them from a distance

I took Maya to my house and I took care of her. Ethan also stayed with her while I was at work and I was so happy he took care of her.

One Month Later

"Good morning Maya". I walked into Maya's room and she was sleeping peacefully In Ethan's arms.

"Shhhh she still sleeping". Ethan scolded me

I glared at him and I went downstairs to see if the breakfast was ready.

"Ma belen is the breakfast ready".

"Yes dear".

I went to Maya's room and she was already awake

"Hello twin sister". Maya said and she smiled at me

"Hello Maya, good morning......your boyfriend was mean to me this morning ". I glared at Ethan and I crossed my arms

"Good morning......don't mind him, he's just been overprotective".

Ethan smirked at me

"Come and have breakfast". We walked down stairs together and as we went downstairs I jabbed Ethan in the stomach

"Why did you do that". Ethan Said and he crouched in pain

"That's for scolding me this morning". I replied and I smirked

"I'll get you for that". Ethan Said and he pounced on me and started tickling me.

I laughed and laughed.....I released myself from his grip and I started throwing him pillows. Maya also joined and we played and laughed.

We had breakfast and I went shopping with Yna, Tori and Maya while Ethan went shopping with Franco and Ji-yoo

One week ago, Yna and Ji-yoo had announced their wedding and I was so happy so I decided I would pay for all the expenses and everything they needed for the wedding, they objected but I insisted.....besides I always have my way.

Tomorrow was the wedding, so I cancelled all my schedules. I bought Yna's wedding gown and she loved it. I bought gowns,shoes and accessories for Maya,Tori and I

I was Yna's maid of honor and I was so happy.

The Wedding Day

I was so excited because it was Yna and Ji-yoo's wedding today. I woke up early, I bathed and my personal stylist came over to prepare me for the day. I looked at myself in the mirror and I looked stunning

"Thanks Stephanie, you always make me look beautiful".

"You're welcome Ma'm Rhian....you are also a very beautiful lady with or without makeup".

"Thanks". I smiled at her

These days I've been quite nicer to people and I wondered why.

I came down from the stairs and everyone gasped as they saw me



The colour of the day was light pink and it suited me well.

"Oh my twinnie, you look stunning". Maya complimented me

"Thanks, you also look stunning too. Ethan will flip if he sees you". I replied and Maya blushed



"Rhian you look hot...all the young guys will pursue you at the wedding". Tori said and I giggled

"You also look beautiful Tori"



The three of us entered my car and Ricardo drove us to the church where the wedding would take place.



As I came down from my car I saw different designs of light pink flowers with a mixture of white flowers.

I went to meet Yna to see if she's ready for the wedding.

"Yna is this you, you look very beautiful and angelic".



"Thanks Rhian, you also look pretty"

I smiled at her and I escorted her towards the aisle. Yna's father held her hands and took her to meet her groom.

Ji-yoo looked so handsome and I knew in my heart that they were perfect together



After the wedding vows and the rings were exchanged, we all headed to the reception for partying. I didn't see Franco anywhere at the church wedding, maybe he will be at the reception.....I thought

Before going to the reception....I, Yna, Tori and Maya changed our outfits

The reception was beautifully decorated with different colours of flowers and there were chandeliers everywhere.



Yna looked stunning in her champagne gold gown with a side slit



Tori also looked pretty in her blue coloured gown



Maya looked hot and sexy in her beautiful slim fitted gown, which showed a little cleavage



I wore a light pink coloured slim fitted gown with a side slit



"Hey, you must be Rhian".

I turned around and I saw a Korean lady, she looked a lot like Ji-yoo.

"Yes I am.....are you Ji-yoo's sister? ". I asked

"Yes I am, my name is Lalisa".

"Nice to meet you Lalisa, you look stunning".



Lalisa wore a ruffle gown that complimented her black hair and dark eyes.

"Thanks Rhian, you also look pretty too"

"Thanks". I smiled

I looked at the other lady standing close to Lalisa, she looked very shy and timid.

"Oh!this is Jennie....she's my sister, she's a little shy and timid".

"Hi Jennie, I'm Rhian".

"Hi". Jennie responded

Jennie was also pretty but not as pretty as Lalisa. She wore a champagne gold gown



I bade them goodbye and I went to look for Yna. I spotted Yna and Ji-yoo sitting together and they stared into each other's eyes romantically and I suddenly remembered Noah. I brushed the thought away then someone tapped me and I turned around and I saw that it was Franco.

Franco was dressed in a red and black suit combination



"Hi Rhian.....wow you look sexy".

"What did you say". I asked

"Nothing....I just said that you look very pretty and breathtaking".

I was so shy that I blushed

"Thanks".

"You are blushing....wow,smiling suits you more"

"Whatever". I replied

I was so shy that I walked away. Am I having feelings for Franco?but I promised myself that I won't trust again, I thought

"Boss, it's time to execute the plan".

"Ok, make sure she's right under the chandelier at the middle then you can cut the ropes". Uncle Armando said

"Yes boss".

"It's your last time on earth Rhian, you will soon join your late parents". Uncle Armando laughed

I was passing through a corridor in the reception when suddenly someone bumped into me.

"Always watch where you are going. ..". I said but the man had hurriedly walked away. I shrugged and I went towards where Yna and Ji-yoo were sitted.



Yna and Ji-yoo were sitted on a beautiful white couch and the background was decorated with white flowers.

"Rhian remember that you are the one giving the toast". Ji-yoo said

"Yes and I'm so honored".

"Thanks Rhian for everything you've done to make our marriage ceremony a success". Yna said

"You're welcome".

I walked towards the center of the hall and I started giving the toast.

"Everybody raise your glasses...a toast to a happy married life, good health and a relationship where love will thrive.....".

Rhian continued the toast and the masked man began to cut the ropes connected to the chandelier directly under her.



Franco stared lovingly at Rhian and his eyes went to the chandelier. The chandelier was dangling a bit and nobody noticed, he looked in the direction of the ropes and he saw a masked man cutting the ropes.

"Rhian! Get out from the way". Franco shouted and he ran towards her and he pulled her out of the way suddenly the chandeliers landed on the ground and it smashed into pieces.

Everybody was shocked and the police was immediately alerted.

Rhian stood up from Franco's body and she dusted herself but her ankle was sprained so she fell to the ground again.

"Let me help you". Franco said and he supported her by slinging her hands on his shoulders and also holding her waist

She stared at him....he had saved her again and i was starting to see how sefless he is .

"Why do you always risk your life to save me". I asked

"Because I care for you and I do not want any harm to come to you or any other person".

"Oh..thanks for always saving me, I could have lost my life today if not for you".

"You're welcome.....besides I'm your prince charming".

He smirked

"No...you're not". I smiled at him

He placed me on a chair and he massaged my right ankle, he went to get a first aid kit and he took out a bandage to wrap my ankle. I felt much better

"Thanks Franco".

He nodded his head and he went to give the police his statement

"Rhian....are you ok?". Maya said and she ran towards me and she hugged me

"I'm fine".

"Are you feeling better now?". Tori asked

I nodded my head

"I'm sorry that you got hurt on my wedding day". Yna said

"Don't be silly Yna...I'm fine". I smiled at her

After the incident, everyone went home.

Yna and Ji-yoo were very sad about the incident, Franco drove me home and he helped me to my bedroom.

"Franco I think I know who's after my life".

"Who?". Franco asked anxiously

"Uncle Armando....I saw him in the wedding reception but I wasn't sure whether it was him but everything is crystal clear".

"He wants to kill me like he killed my late parents but I won't let him suceed".

"He won't succeed Rhian but we need to double your security".

"Ok".

Franco left , Maya returned home and she told me that yna and Ji-yoo were fine and they have gone home. The police could not find who cut the ropes to the chandelier.

"Maya please be extra careful, uncle Armando is out to kill us ..... so we should stick together and fight".

"We will do this together". I smiled

I couldn't sleep at night because I kept remembering my late parents death again and I kept imagining all the evil things he could do to try and kill I and Maya. I have to protect myself and Maya from the evil clutches of Uncle Armando.

"You won this time Rhian but next time you won't be so lucky....I will destroy you and your family and I will succeed". Uncle Armando said and he threw a dagger at the pictures of Rhian and Maya.
