Having risen to unimaginable heights through battling many gates over the years, his glory was renowned throughout the world and was said to be one of the few hunters that would pave the path to a brighter future for their generation.

Yet, that was all thrown out of the window.

Almost a decade after The Great Awakening which shook the entirety of Terra, the Hunter "Ace" stood before many people as he announced something that no one could've ever imagined.

"Today, I will be announcing my retirement."

Yes. That day marked the end of one Hunter's journey.

Though, it was not out of his own free will.

Levelling by the Sidelines

At the sight of the screen before him, the young man sighed to himself.

"To the one who has passed the first trial, huh?" As he read through the description of his Ascension Trial again, Jace could only frown. "Sigh... Looks like the second trial is soon. I'm not exactly excited about that..."

Ever since he had unknowingly completed the first trial of Oracle back when he was an S-ranker, Jace's life changed overnight. Time had passed since then, and now the second trial was looming upon him.

"Now that I think about it... That Guardian boss was the result of an anomaly too, wasn't it?" Scratching his head helplessly, the young man closed his status window. "A dungeon filled with C-ranked monsters and an S-ranked boss... The signs were pretty telling."

"WHAT?!" As the black-haired man lamented on his past, Landon's loud voice rang into his ears. "WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?!"
