Unspoken Understanding

Before Alex could say anything, she could no longer keep her nerves under control. She spoke up with a mix of fear and vulnerability.

Her voice trembled slightly as she continued, her eyes searching his face for any sign of understanding. "Alex," she began, her words tinged with a touch of vulnerability. "I can't help but wonder... why did you ask about it? Why do you want to know if I would consider marrying for the sake of my child?"

Her voice trailed off, leaving the question hanging in the air, showing how unsure she was. Her heart was heavy with the weight of her past, the thoughts and feelings from her past that lingered within her. She had built her life around her child and faced the hurdles of being a single parent with an unwavering determination.

Alex's gaze softened as he reached out to gently hold her hand, his touch was comforting and reassuring.
