Meet the in-laws?

Soisen was pondering during his free time in the summer, which wasn't exactly plentiful either with everything he was doing simultaneously, and came to a very annoying conclusion.

Voldemort seems to have a particular interest in him.

How did he come to that conclusion?

Well, for starters, he didn't find it meaningful that someone would put his name in the Goblet of Fire and it was too coincidental not to arouse his suspicions. Even after the tournament was over, he still didn't know who turned the goblet into a transporter and could only set his sights on the missing Karkaroff.

Had he not known about the switch and decided to act like Cedric, they both would have been sent to the graveyard.

It was then that he realized that he possessed two things that Voldemort was always interested in, as was later proven: a direct pureblood lineage with one of the founders of Hogwarts and wealth capable of fulfilling his most ambitious projects.

Voldemort used the relics of the founders as containers for his soul fragments and perhaps wished to include their lineage in his resurrection ritual, managing to secretly shed his dirty-blood status that his followers seemed to ignore despite revealing his father's identity when he obtained his bones.

With that blood coursing through his veins, he might have been able to access the Galegold wealth due to magical technicalities and that would have greatly simplified his plans to dominate the British magical community. Otherwise, he might have extorted or manipulated him out of his money, it wasn't clear to him what that noseless madman would prefer.

So, even if he wanted to wait for Tom and Potter to face each other to the death, he needed to be on guard to avoid being pushed to one side or the other and suffering losses.

All the more reason to create the magical bastion Galegold.

When the appointed date arrived, Silvia and Hermione brought their families to the store and had a meeting so they could ask questions and listen to Soisen's proposal. Hermione's parents were easy to convince when this was presented to them as an opportunity to take an extended vacation. Silvia's parents, on the other hand, were more stubborn as they worked in construction and had several projects about to begin. Soisen being nervous about meeting them under these circumstances didn't help.

Fortunately, their mothers took over after secretly nodding with satisfaction at meeting Silvia and Ann used her lawyer-trained silver tongue to convince them that there would be no major loss while Ingta calmed them down by serving some brownies with black tea.

After all... they were going to be family in the future!

The meeting ended with Silvia and Soisen completely red in the face due to their families getting along and starting to tell embarrassing stories from when they were little. Hermione tried to contain her laughter, but soon she herself paled as her own parents entered the contest of seeing who humiliates their child the most.

Soisen presented the construction project to Silvia, Hermione and company with the intention that they would contribute ideas if possible. The only thing he didn't reveal was the location and the plans had a lot of work ahead of them, it was better to have ideas now than when he was finished.

When Silvia's parents saw the plans and explained the cost of building all the basics and enchanting it in Muggle numbers, they were stunned, because when they unconsciously compared what they had earned during their lives, they realized they couldn't afford even the floor of a room.

They exchanged glances secretly. Their daughter mentioned that her boyfriend was a talented magician and had a little money in his pockets. She even showed them the moving picture of him crushing a dragon with his own fists, but damn, they really had a new understanding of what it meant to be a rich wizard.

In the end, it was through this building project that Soisen was able to connect with Silvia's parents as they discussed different parts and came up with ideas. Silvia's father was especially excited, because it was the first time he didn't have to worry about saving costs while maintaining the final quality, but could use the best of the best without worrying about anything.

Naturally, not everything could be discussed all at once and several meetings were held which were joined by a Ragnuk with his eyes sparkling after hearing the figure he would get for his services.

It was the equivalent of everything his clan earned in a hundred and fifty years!

Not only that, Soisen magically swore that if Ragnuk exceeded his expectations and created a true masterpiece that impressed him, he would quadruple the payment on the spot!

That was six hundred years of income!

Ragnuk almost started foaming at the mouth on the spot when he imagined the amount of money he could achieve, his increased status in the community and how envious others would be!

Silvia's father was impressed with the little creature's knowledge and motivation, as had to be expected from a magical creature with the soul of a craftsman!

Nagini was taking note of the amount and type of materials needed while secretly sweating, making sure that Ann and Ingta would never know the numbers her son was managing in this operation.

Every time they asked, she just told them that Soisen wanted it to be a surprise.

And fortunately for her, the excuse worked like a charm.

The most basic requirements just to prepare the land and surroundings according to Soisen and Ragnuk, already amounted to a whopping eighty-three million galleons!

In fact, the problem was not even money, but whether the materials that the construction of the magical bastion would require could be met, as many of them were only rarely produced to order or even from abroad. The moment someone asked for a huge amount, countless eyes would try to find out who wanted it and what its use was going to be.

So during the summer, the magical community discovered to their bewilderment that vast quantities of high quality, extremely rare magical materials and unique alchemical products were flowing out of businesses and being exported, but they were unable to determine where they ended up.

The moment they appeared on the market, they were instantly acquired without leaving others time to react.

Even the Ministry was alarmed this time, as many businesses prioritized that order over theirs because whoever was behind it paid three times the market price. The worst thing is that they could not do anything about it, because the order does not interfere with any law and they could not pay that much in comparison.

It was only natural that the highest bidder had priority.

Although that didn't stop them from feeling annoyed, as the shortage of materials resulted in the delay of several important projects. Powerless in the face of unscrupulous vendors, they could only try to track down their competitor and try to placate or threaten him to let some flow so the others could live.

But they couldn't even do that, as every time a delivery was to be made, the order simply disappeared and they didn't understand how, as they even went as far as using anti Apparition barriers.

But how were they to know that it was Soisen's army of house elves acting inconspicuously?

The wizards, after all, always forgot that their barriers did not prevent access to the house elves and it was clear that they were going to take advantage of that loophole. By the time the summer was over, the blueprint was ready and they had enough materials stockpiled to barely get started, so Ragnuk began construction under Soisen's request.
