She didn't dare look at the other boy, her cousin. She felt too ashamed to, but still tried to stay composed with her chin held up. This was the best thing she could do at the moment - perhaps the only thing she felt like doing — keep her chin high and pretend the whole betrayal fiasco hadn't happened.
