When Chif Tajo decides to negotiate overseas, he leaves his son, Mateo, in charge as the Chif of Kahn'Teh. Unconcerned with politics or power, Mateo plans to use his temporary status to court Cecile, the Ju'Ri servant girl, before his father's return.
