Climbing back through the window of the inn he was staying in, Alonzo very quickly closed the door and shut the curtains. Breathing heavily he shed himself of his cloak and shirt, going over to a basin of water to begin to wash himself off.
Suddenly, froze upon hearing someone clear his throat, and he slowly turned to face Stanley, who had been waiting for him in his room.
“Eager to wash this blood off are we?” he asked with narrowed eyes.
“Of course I am, you monster,” Alonzo spat out before splashing water on his face. He winced when a little seeped into a slash from Jamie. He was lucky he had the jump on him or he would have been killed for sure.
Stanley shook his head. “I am no monster, Alonzo. You are.” He grinned once again as he saw Alonzo freeze up again. “That’s right. What? Did you think killing that man's servant was going to warn him? All you did was make him emotionally distance himself.”
