A mix of sensations and energy flowed through James’s body. He felt cold and hot all at the same time, the tension in his head vice-like. He could have sworn he was dying. Or was he already dead? He couldn’t really tell, or even bring himself to care as his brain began to catch up with the events of the past hour.
His eyes snapped open as purple swirls of energy enveloped his waist, pulling his body from the ground effortlessly before setting him gently on his feet.
Terrence growled as he looked over and saw James standing again. “You don’t know how to stay down, do you?” he asked through that same forced smile.
James looked down at his hands. His eyes then shifted up to the scene in front of him and he felt rage crash over him like a powerful wave against a cliffside.
“Guess not…” he said as a mix of purple and red swirled in his green irises. His hands lit up with a purple glow. “Step back Terrence, or I will make you meet the Almighty sooner than you want.”
