Twenty Eight: Fights and Disagreements Part 1/2

Her cell phone wakes her up, indicating that it's already half past five on a Monday morning. Her mother luckily managed to transfer her place, calling the principal, who is luckily her friend, during the night.

She told her that it wouldn't be easy, but that she would make an exception this time, after all, the girl couldn't afford not to study. So Marina got out of bed, got ready and went downstairs to the kitchen, grabbing a yogurt and cycling off to school.

She wanted to arrive early to avoid warnings and she wanted to have the chance to talk to Lucas without so many people around.

When she arrived at the school, she found it empty, with only half a dozen students, but among them she spotted Lucas. He smiles when he sees her, approaches her and says:

- We need to talk. I couldn't bear it and spoke to her. She denied it, of course, and it ended up causing a bit of a stir. I believe you, because I know you wouldn't joke about something like that, but I need you to be careful, because Diego had a fight with me this morning, telling me a lot of things I'd rather not mention.

- Don't worry, I'll sort it out with him and about what I told you, I had a dream. I know it may sound silly, but everything I dream comes true and you know it. You also know that you need to find out what she's up to.

The two continued talking until they entered the classroom and saw his girlfriend with her cousin.

They both look at her angrily and she says:

- Who do you think you are, girl, to meddle in other people's relationships? It's not enough that you're here and you still want to steal my boyfriend?-the girl says with fury in her eyes-say another stupid thing like that and I'll knock your teeth out.

- Darling, I'm not like you, arresting a man for a child, let alone lying about paternity. Do you think I didn't see when Diego was holding your hand just now?

The girl turns red with embarrassment and storms out of the room, but says something first:

- You'll be sorry, girl, I swear.

Class begins and Lucas sits down next to her and whispers:

- Thanks for everything. I didn't know you cared about me like that - and he gives you a big smile.

- I don't mind. I just don't like injustice and she gave herself away. She could just say it was a lie and make some drama, but she couldn't think straight.

The two of them remain silent until halfway through class. Recess begins and she decides to buy something from the snack bar and then sits down in the cafeteria. Then she receives a message that catches her attention:

"Meet me in class, I need to talk to you."

The number was unknown, but she thought it was Lucas wanting to get something off his chest and headed for the classroom. When she got there, she found it completely empty, with only a shadow in the corner. Walking towards the dark, she feels something grab her arm and when she looks closer, she sees Diego. She tries to scream, but he kicks her hard in the stomach and Marina falls to the floor unconscious.

The girl wakes up and sees everything around her, but she can't work out exactly where she is. The place is pitch black, preventing her from thinking. She reaches into her pocket, but doesn't find her cell phone and remembers dropping it when she was kicked.

She quickly begins to feel a very strong pain in the area and passes out again. Hours later, she wakes up and when she tries to get up, she realizes that her hands are tied.

A tear falls from her eye and just when she thinks she's alone, she sees Lucas' girlfriend putting her hand on her stomach and says:

- Honestly, I thought you were smarter than that, but don't worry, I'm not going to kill you. Thanks to Diego who made me promise not to hurt you. I just want to give you a warning-she picks up her cell phone, looking for a photo and says-you're going to stay away from Lucas and not say a word to him about what happened here and if he wants to know what you said, he'll say you were wrong and ignore you or else-she shows a photo of her biological mother with a beautiful belly-you understand don't you? Your mother would be very sad if she lost this baby, wouldn't she?

- Don't you dare mess with my mother.

- Don't worry, just don't open your mouth and I won't do anything, I promise. Now I'm going to let you go and if you try anything, you know it.
