Chapter 61 Are you taken

At the Williams mansion….

Everyone was gathered for dinner. After Michelle threatened Tina, she did not try to misbehave with Shina or Linda and the house has been peaceful.

"When is your boss coming?" Tina asked, her eyes fixed on Mark.

"Who are you asking, who doesn't have a name here?" Shina asked nonchalantly.

Tina glared at Shina, her face turning red with anger. "Shut up, you spoiled brat! I wasn't talking to you. I'm asking Mark, not you."

Shina glared at Tina with a pinched expression. "Do I look like a spoiled brat to you? Better watch your tongue, lady. Being a spoiled brat is better than being a gold digger."

"How dare you!" Tina fumed angrily.

"Stop it, all of you!" Michelle slammed the table angrily. "Shina, that's not a way to talk to your elders, okay?" Michelle said, and Shina nodded her head without saying anything. Michelle turned to Tina. "And you, when Maxwell is coming, what he is doing is none of your business. I would really appreciate it if you mind your own business."

Tina's expression tightened, her pulse speeding. "You all are going to pay for every single humiliation you've caused me, mark my words." Tina gritted her teeth, her muscles quivering in anger. "All of you will be out of here very soon." she said angrily and stormed out of the dining room.

"Shina, was this necessary though? You know fighting with people like her is a waste of time because they have nothing to lose in life." Michelle said.

Shina sneered, "You are right, she has no shame at all. She would have left by now if she had any more self-respect left in her." Shina said. "But unfortunately, she will stay here with all the humiliation she is getting. Anyways, let me go and freshen up and sleep. I've lost my appetite because of her." Shina said and left the dining room.

"Good night Michelle and Mark, I'm off to bed." Linda said and also left. She had never been alone in the house without Maxwell and she was very scared that Tina would do something to her in their absence, she remembered when he yelled her name that day and the fear could not let her be.

" Wow, this house is full of drama." Mark remarked.

Michelle sighed, "That's why I don't wish to get married to a rich guy. The more money there is, the more problems you will face," she said. "And it's so tiring. I don't know how Melissa will deal with all this. Like seriously, I can't deal with it."

Mark raised his eyebrows, offering Michelle a questioning gaze, feeling lighthearted. "You don't want to get married to a rich guy? I mean, it's every girl's dream to have a husband who can shower her with diamonds, gold, luxurious jewelry, clothes, and everything of the sort."

Michelle's heart beat quickened,by the look she received from Mark, she wasn't naive and understood someone's feelings. At age 25, she was experienced and knew that he had a crush on her. "Well, I don't need all those things," Michelle said with a smile. "I want to marry someone who loves me deeply, respects me with all the respect I deserve, and values me. That's all I need in a man. I know that love does not pay the bills, but a relationship with no love is worthless. So, it's better to have a relationship with no money but with so much love."

Mark's lips parted, releasing an appreciative sigh. His adoration for Michelle increased, but he was afraid to approach her, fearing that she might only be interested in rich guys. It's not that he was poor; his monthly salary was around R50,000, and he had a house, a car, and was able to take care of his family who lived in a village. However, he knew that it was not enough to shower a woman with gold, expensive gifts, or cars. That's why he got afraid every time he wanted to approach her.

"Wow, I didn't know that women like you still existed on this planet, who are looking for love, respect, and value. I thought that all the women these days are after money, but I guess I was wrong," Mark said.

Michelle smirked and replied, "Don't judge a book by its cover because you don't know what's inside." Michelle said, rising from the chair, "I'm going to bed. I don't want to be late for work."

She was about to leave when Mark spoke up.

"Is Miss Michelle taken?" He blurted out. Making Michelle smirk, she leaned in to Mark and whispered. "What do you think? Do I look like I'm taken?" She asked and left the dining room heading to her room.

Mark's face flushed red as he watched Michelle's back. He didn't know that she could be so daring like this. It seemed like he didn't know her at all. "I know that you are not taken and you are going to be mine," Mark murmured with a smile.

...….

At the Nadia mansion ****

Riya was busy going through some paperwork when Zick entered the study room. He walked to the chair and sat in front of Riya.

"Granny, I've got some good news," Zick said with a smirk.

Riya removed the eyeglasses she was wearing and looked at Zick with a questioning gaze. "I hope you did not do anything stupid this time. Now tell me what the good news is."

"Melissa will be coming back to me next week. I've got something that will make her come running to me without even having a second thought," Zick said, smiling happily.

Riya's eyes lit up with happiness. "Finally, my grandson has grown up. Now you know how to rectify your mistakes," Riya said. "I can't wait to hold my grandson's child."

Zick averted his gaze away from Riya. "Granny, there's a little problem though."

Riya raised her eyebrows, "What happened now?"

"Liana is pregnant with my baby." Zick said, "I don't know what to do with her."

"Don't be such a fool," Riya said, letting out a sigh of relief. "You can marry Melissa and keep Liana as your mistress. That way, you can raise your kid and she will get the money."

Zick's eyes lit up. "Wow Granny, you are the best. Thank you for the great ideas," he said.

"I will do anything for you, dear. I'm your grandmother," Riya said.

"Thank you, grandma. I will take my leave now," Zick said and left the study, leaving Riya with a smirk.

She was so happy that Melissa was coming back to her grandson. She knew that Melissa was the only good woman for Zick, who would take good care of him and help him become a good boy. She didn't care if Melissa was willing to come or not. She was the one who brought her to the village, so she had all the rights to bring her back.
