Only the heart talking

Ruby could not believe Colt had kissed her. She wanted more, but the driver announced they were at the botanical garden where the ceremony and reception were being held.

Colt walked with her up the path, "You're giving Joey away?"

She faced him and nodded. Joey's parents were in a car crash two years ago and didn't make it.

"Double duty maid of honor too."

Colt chuckled, "Well as best man I insist you save a few dances for me."

Ruby tilted her head, "Oh you insist?"

Colt leaned in, "How else can I ensure to your safe return." He winked at her.

...........................

Ruby stood by Joey as he paced repeating his vows. "I, Joesph Wallace Wolfsburg..."

"Joey calm down." Ruby placed a hand on his shoulder and willed calm into her friend,

"Today is going to be perfect. You love Beau and he loves you." She comforted him.

Joey smiled, "Thanks. I am glad you're here Ru."

Ruby smirked, "Do you remember how you told your parents you were gay?"

Joey laughed at the memory.

He told Ruby first. Joey knew that his sister would be his solid rock.

She of course understood and promised to be there when he told his parents Will and Amy.

Ruby and Joey sat together holding hands. As he started to talk. Amy's eyes went wide before Joey could say more than, "Mom dad I gotta..."

She jumped up and yelled, "OH MY GOD YOU KNOCKED UP RUBY!!!!!!!"

Will spit out his beer, "What the hell!"

Ruby was embarrassed and turned as red as her name. Joey denied all he could when aunt Lulu came into the room and calmly said, "He did no such thing Amy... he's gay."

A bit of confusion and a lot of are you sures later both Will and Amy told Joey they loved him no matter what. "You're my son and as long as you're happy, but that sex talk still applies. Use protection and your school comes first." Will told his son.

Ruby wiped a tear away, "I still can't believe Amy thought you and I did it."

Joey hugged her, "She was appalled at being a too young grandma to mind me being gay."

Ruby shook her head, "They would have loved Beau."

Joey smiled.

...........................

Colt leaned against the door jam eating nuts as Beau finished dressing.

"So, big day little man."

He was nearly a foot taller than his friend.

Beau tied his bow tie, "Don't start with the size comparisons Colt; I would not want to embarrass you."

Colt chuckled, "I am happy for you. Joey is a great guy and loves you more than the world."

Beau blushed, "Yeah, he is a bit younger than me, but he understands me like no one else."
